I have a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland with majors in Japanese and German languages. I have lived for two years in Germany and for two years in Japan. My native language is English, however I have reasonable proficiency in Esperanto, written German, and spoken Japanese. My partner is a native Japanese so between the two of us we can proficiently manage written Japanese to English and English to Japanese translations too. Through my study of Chinese and Esperanto I became familiar with the artificial language Mondlango (Ulango) and other artificial languages that I have reasonable competence in are Interlingua, Lingua Franca Nova and Ido. I can speak more fluently in Hebrew than in Arabic, but reading and writing is difficult in both. My best spoken fluency is in English, German, Esperanto and Japanese. I came across the www.proz.com site when searching for an online Arabic-English or Arabic-Esperanto dictionary.
I study languages as a hobby so I do not charge for exchanging language information with others, however my working translation rate is US$00.50 per source word (noting that for Japanese to English translations, any Japanese words containing more than two Sino-Japanese characters are counted as two words). |
