Welcome and thanks for joining us on Enlightening Entertainment. On today’s episode, we’ll be exploring the history, spirituality and art of Persian dance. Iranian or Persian dance and its origins remain obscure to the outside world but in the past thirty years, excavations have lead to archaeological discoveries in Iran that have made it possible to access artifacts and evidence on the origin of Persian dance. Iran is unique in that it is a country which has methodically and actively devoted itself to its cultural art of dance. For this ancient country, dancing has been a fundamental part of Iran’s social and religious rituals. The thousands of years of Persian history is defined by grand events that have influenced important parts of the world and its civilization. Iran’s beautiful national art form deserves to be revealed to the world and its forgotten history given a new birth. The root and rise of Persian dance as its own distinguished art form is approximated to be parallel with the birth of Mithraism and its diffusion. This religion mainly centers itself around ancient Persia’s sun and light God, Mithra who is known as the main figure of this mysterious religion that spread over the entire Roman Empire. Bountiful temples and depictions of the legendary Mithra have been found and unearthed in the three continents of the ancient world, Asia, Africa and Europe. The first recorded dance in Persian history was actually performed by men and was a depiction of worship to the God Mithra. This ceremonial act is acknowledged as the earliest known form of Iranian dance. The most significant resource for researching ancient Persian dance can be found in the Greek historian Herodotos’ work “Nine Books”. He describes the old history of Asian empires and Persian wars up to 478 BC. On several occasions he has described in detail the cultural and social habits of Persians. He has mentioned the wide cultural exchange that Persians had with the ancient world. He describes that, “From every corner of the known world, the most appreciated artists were imported to the imperial court in order to practice their artistic abilities in the presence of the majestic Emperor and his court”. This cultural correspondence with other civilizations, specifically Egypt and Greece, has been prevalent and continued for many centuries. In a variety of works by Greek scholars, ‘Persian dance masters’ have been mentioned as they appeared in ancient Greece and also as a result, Greek sportsmen, poets and dancers had been sent to the Persian Empire. This cultural exchange has been acknowledged as one of the distinctive characteristics of ancient Persian culture. This is where the term ‘acculturation’ originated, meaning the acceptance of new cultures in harmony with your own. This was a noble quality that allowed for the endurance of an empire that ruled over numerous nations, from Egypt in Northern Africa to India in the Far East. It is recognized as the world’s first empire that was religiously tolerant and was made up of a variety of different languages, races, religions and cultures. The first dynasty to rule the Persian Empire was the Achaemenians. During this dynasty, there were several emperors who were enthusiastic for and encouraged the advancements of various art forms. In earliest sources, Greek historian, Ketzias, wrote about a popular and skillful female dancer from Crete named Zenon who was Shah Ardeshir II’s court dancer and the apple of the King’s eye. Dancing was a well-developed and protected art form during the existence of other dynasties of the Persian Empire, for instance Parthians and Sassanians. According to the Greek texts, there have been detailed descriptions for different forms of dancing, like fire dance, sword dance and even horse dance, which meant dancing while riding on horseback. Dance was praised and considered a respected social behavior in Persian culture and was performed through a whole millennia until the Arabs occupied Iran. Their new religion prohibited dancing and Persian dance disappeared completely during this period. The culture ofIran went into descent. Because dancing was not accepted socially, it slowly regressed to its original religious employment. Dancing soon emerged in the Persian mystic and Sufi faith. It eventually found its place in literature and was performed again by religious men. Hafiz, Saadi and Rumi were three famous Persian poets who praised dancing in their poetry and portrayed this art form as a symbol of the power of life. Sufism embraces dancing as a spiritual instrument to become one with God, which is the ultimate goal in the Sufi faith. A great spiritual and poetic master, Mevlana commonly known as Rumi is a much adored Sufi who made dancing a central element in his Sufi doctrine. Rumi resided in Konya, western Persia, and there he established and developed his doctrines. He was considered amongst Sufis as the great Sheik or the spiritual leader in connection with the hidden and divine dimension who can guide his followers upwards to the immortal. This goal is achieved by practicing a strong blissful ritual performed with music and dance as its central spirit. This charismatic ritual is called Sama and represents a spiritual reunion to the ‘Creator’ that is still practiced today. Despite the long and elaborate history of Persian dance, the only original form that has survived throughout the centuries is the folkloric dance, particularly that of the nomads. Back then few dance performances occur in the cities or in public. The only exception was in the royal court of the Qajars. The Qajar dynasty was the ruling family of Persia from 1781 to 1925. The rise of the Qajars meant a liberalization of people’s attitude toward dancing although this art form remained in the monopoly of the royal court. There are illustrations such as both splendid paintings and texts in form of memoirs and official reports emphasizing the popularity of these dances in court. Dancing became very popular and a social phenomenon, primarily performed during diverse entertaining programs like coronations, marriage festivities and the Persian New Year celebration Norouz (pronounced Naw-rooz). The Iranian group of "National Folkloric Music, Song and Dance" was formed in 1958 by the Ministry of Culture and Arts under the direction of Nejad Ahmadzadeh. The goal was to revive, restore and develop all kind of national and folkloric music, song and dance. Groups of experts were sent to villages and far-fetched provinces of Iran to gather material and to make an in depth study of these art forms. The company performed in the presence of all the state guests of Iran including many royal families and presidents of the East and the West such as the Queen of England, King Hassan II of Morocco, Presidents De Gaule of France, Yahya Khan of Pakistan, Chaussesco of Romania, Nixon of USA, and more. Dancing gained acceptance in the traditional Iranian society and thanks to the devoted work of some Iranian enthusiasts it was developing to a popular form of art. Nejad Ahmadzadeh says: "Dance used to be a lowly means of entertainment in Iranian culture. During my career we placed it on the cultural map of Persia as an art form, where it belonged". رقص ایرانی یا رقص پارسی و مبدا پیدایش(سرچشمه)آن برای جهان خارج ناشناخته مانده،اما طی سی سال گذشته،حفاری های انجام شده و کشفیات باستان شناسی در ایران دسترسی به مدارکی دال بر سرچشمه پیدایش رقص ایرانی را ممکن ساختهاند.ایران کشوری منحصربه فرد است که خود را به طور منظم و فعالانه ای به هنرفرهنگی رقص اختصاص داده است.برای این کشور باستانی ،رقص به عنوان یک بخش بنیادی(اساسی ) جامعه ایران و آیین مذهبی آن تلقی می شود.
هزاران سال از تاریخ ایران بر اساس حوادث مهم و با شکوهی تعریف میشود که بخش های مهمی از کل جهان وتمدن آنرا تحت تاثیر قرار میدهند.ترکیب زیبای هنر ملی ایران شایسته آن است که به جهان شناسانده شود وبه تاریخ فراموش شده آن تولد دوباره داده شود(تاریخ فراموش شده آن دوباره زنده شود).
ریشه و اساس رقص ایرانی ،همچنانکه خود یک هنر برجسته می باشد،به طور تقریبی همزمان با تولد خورشید پرستی (میترا پرستی) و رواج آن میباشد.این مذهب به طور عمده ای خود را گرداگرد خدای نور و خورشید باستان ،میترا ،کسی که به عنوان یک پیکر اصلی از این مذهب اسرار آمیز که در تمام امپراتوری رم گسترش یافته شناخته شده،متمرکز کرده.معابد باشکوه و نماهایی از میترای افسانه ای در سه قاره از جهان باستان،آسیا،آفریقا و اروپا از زیر خاک بیرون آورده شده اند.اولین رقص ثبت شده در تاریخ ایران در اصل توسط یک مرد انجام شده و به صورت نمایی از پرستش میترای خدا بوده.این عمل تشریفاتی به عنوان اولین شکل شناخته شده از رقص ایرانی تثبیت شده.مهمترین منبع برای تحقیق در باره رقص ایران باستان میتواند کتاب "9کتاب"نوشته هرودت تاریخنویس یونانی ،باشد. او در این کتاب به توضیح تاریخ کهن امپراطوری آسیایی ها(آریایی ها) وجنگهای ایرانی تا تاریخ 478 بعد از میلاد (میلادی)پرداخته است.
هرودت در چندین مورد به توضیح و تفسیرعادات فرهنگی و اجتماعی ایرانیان پرداخته است.او تبادل فرهنگی گسترده ایرانیان با جهان باستان را ذکر کرده و توضیخ میدهد که"از تمام گوشه های جهان شناخته شده ،گرانقدرترین هنرمندان به درگاه شاهی فرستاده شدند برای بکارگیری استعدادهای هنریشان در پیشگاه امپراطور بزرگ ودرگاهش ".این تناظر فرهنگی با تمدن های دیگر ،مخصوصا مصر و یونان،مرسوم شده و قرن ها ادامه یافت.در تحقیقات متنوع محققان یونانی (این موضوع) ذکر شده که "استادان رقص ایرانی"اولین بار در یونان ظاهر شدند و در نتیجه ورزشکاران، شاعران و رقاصان یونانی به امپراطوری ایران فرستاده شدند.این تبادل و تعویض فرهنگی بعنوان یکی از ممتازترین مشخصات(ویژگی های) تمدن ایران باستان شناخته شده.و اینجاست که اصطلاح "نقل و انتقال فرهنگی یا همان تبادل فرهنگی "به وجود می آید،به معنی قبول یک فرهنگ و تمدن جدید و تطبیق آن با فرهنگ خویشتن.این یک خصوصیت مهم و با شکوه بود که پایداری یک امپراطوری که ملت های بیشماری را اداره میکرد ،از مصر در شمال آفریقا تا به هند درشرق دور، ممکن ساخت.این است که بعنوان اولین امپراطوری جهان متشکل از زبانها،اقوام،ادیان وتمدن های گوناگون شناخته شده.
هخامنشیان اولین سلسله ای بود که امپراطوری ایران را اداره میکرد.در طی این سلسله ،پادشاهانی حکومت میکردند که بسیار مشتاق و طرفدار پیشرفت هنر در شکل های مختلف بودند.در منابع اولیه،تاریخنویس یونانی،کتزیاس،در مورد یک رقاصه معروف و ماهرمینویسد که نامش زنون بود ودر دربار اردشیرشاه دوم میرقصید و بسیار مورد علاقه ایشان بود(نور چشمی او بود).
رقص در امپراطوری ایران دردوران حکومت سلسله های مختلف مثل پارتی ها و ساسانی ها یک هنرتوسعه یافته وحفاظت شده بشمار میرفت.بر طبق نوشته های یونانی ها،چند تعریف دقیق از اشکال مختلف رقص وجود دارد مثل رقیص آتش ،رقص شمشیر و حتی رقص اسب ها به معنی رقصیدن در هنگام تازیدن اسب.
در فرهنگ ایرانی،رقص بعنوان یک رفتار(حرکت) اجتماعی مورد احترام تلقی و ستایش میشد و درهمه جشن های هزارساله اجرا میشد تا زمانیکه عرب ها ایران را اشغال کردند.مذهب جدید آنها رقصیدن را منع کرد و در طی دوران حکومت آنها رقص ایرانی بطور کامل از بین رفت.
تمدن ایران سقوط (نزول) کرد.از آنجا که رقصیدن در جامعه پذیرفته نشد،رفته رفته به سمت سرچشمه اش یعنی همان استفاده در مراسم مذهبی نزول کرد.رقص خیلی زود در میان ایرانیان اهل تصوف و صوفی مذهب پدیدار شد؛و سرانجام جایش را درادب و هنر(ادبیات) یافت و دوباره توسط مردان مذهبی به اجرا درآمد.حافظ،
سعدی و رومی ،سه شاعر معروف ایرانی بودند که رقص را در اشعارشان ستودند(ستایش کردند) و آنرا بعنوان نماد و مظهرقدرت زندگی توصیف کردند.صوفی ها رقص را بعنوان یک وسیله روحانی برای یکی شدن با خدا میدانند،هدف نهایی در مذهب صوفی.(یعنی هدف نهایی در مذهب صوفی همان یکی شدن با خداست ).
بزرگترین شاعر روحانی، مولانا ملقب به رومی یکی از عاشقان صوفی (عاصق صوفی کسی هست که عاشق خداست)کسی بود که رقص را یک عنصر مرکزی در عقاید صوفی منش خویش قرار داد.رومی در کنیا،در غرب ایران اقامت داشت،و در آنجا عقاید خود را بنا نهاد و توسعه داد.او در میان صوفیان بعنوان شیخ بزرگ یا رهبر روحانیون در برقراری ارتباط با عالم غیب و کسی که میتوانست پیروانش را بسوی جهان جاوید سوق دهد ،تلقی میشد.این هدف با انجام تشریفات قوی مذهبی به همراه آهنگ و رقص به وقوع می پیوندد.این تشریفات جذاب مذهبی سما نام دارد ودیدار روحانی با خالق را بیان میکند که امروزه هنوز انجام میشود.
علیرقم تاریخچه طولانی و استادانه(با شکوه) رقص ایرانی ،تنها شکل اصیل رقص که طی قرن ها هنوز باقی مانده رقص قومی (رقص مردمی و همگانی) است، مخصوصا رقص مرسوم در ایلات(میان چادر نشینان).
بعد از آن تعداد کمی رقص که در میان عموم مردم در شهرها اجرا میشود.تنها استثنا در دربار سلطنتی قاجارها وجود داشت.سلسله قاجار،خاندان قانونگذارایران بود که از سال 1781 تا 1925 حکومت میکرد.
پیدایش قاجار بمعنی آزادی تمایل مردم بسوی رقص بود گرچه این هنر انحصارا در دربار شاهی باقی ماند.
چند تصویر از جمله نقاشی های با شکوه و نوشته هایی به شکل شرح حال و گزارشات رسمی موجود هستند که محبوبیت این رقص را در دربار تایید میکنند.رقص به صورت یک پدیده بسیار معروف و اجتماعی درآمد،که عمدتا در برنامه های گوناگون سرگرم کننده مثل تاجگذاری ،جشن های ازدواج وجشن های نوروزبه اجرا درمی آمد.
گروه ایرانی " آهنگ و رقص وآواز ملی " در سال 1958توسط سازمان فرهنگ و هنر تحت نظارت نژاد احمدزاده شکل گرفت.هدف از این کار دوباره زنده کردن،بازسازی و توسعه تمام انواع رقص ها ،آهنگ ها و آوازهای ملی و محلی بود.
گروه هایی از متخصصان به روستاها و ایالات دورافتاده در ایران برای انجام تحقیقات عمیق در اشکال مختلف این هنرفرستاده شدند.این شرکت به افتخار مهمانان خارجی ایران که شامل خانواده های سلطنتی و رییس جمهورهای شرق و غرب از جمله ملکه انگلستان ، شاه حسن دوم ماراکو،رییس جمهورفرانسه

The user's Mostly used path (web pages) in different databases were discovered which can be rich resources to improve web designing. one of the most used web pages in csa.com, is Help. This can be a reason of users' unawareness about site's goals and its databases. When Users cannot fulfill their information needs , they will have to use the Help web page to find out a solution. This is a weakness for a web site. One of the important criteria in web designing is usability so meeting their requirements won't be time consuming.( 1990, jakob Nielsen) some solution to this problem can be providing a powerful site map, offering useful information about the site purpose in the Homepage and a rich help about the site content and how to access to them.
Another most used path, is rpsv/cw/cgi-bin/fastforward in sourceoecd.com databases. It indicates that there might be some useful information in this path which attracts users. So, having information about mostly used path in websites Helps to have a useful classification and placing products in web sites. Also, it can be helpful to place frequently used products in short paths in the web sites.
Bachelor user's information retrieval behavior from different countries shows the frequent use of data bases in umi.com, ebsco.com and lexisnexis.com through 7 days a week and they mostly download PDF format files. These databases satisfy their needs widely. in addition, the main supplier can be able to make important business decision by taking these information into account.
Frequently used databases by the Master's users, are Umi.com ، ebsco.com، lexisnexis.com, springerlink.com, newsbank.com, viewSwier.com, saiglobal.com, galegroup.com, netlibrary.com, jstor.org, factiva.com, intersicence.wiley.com.
Moreover, Umi.com، ebsco.com، lexisnexis.com, springerlink.com galegroup.com, jstor.org, factiva.com, intersicence.wiley.com, is used by the Ph.D users from all fields of study and they mostly download Pdf, Xls and Zip files. The number of databases in this section in contrast with the above mentioned degrees is lesser. And this can be a reason of poor databases or the limitation in databases in providing their information needs.
By mining the log files, some of web sites are used together. For instance, users who visited databases in Ebsco.com, ebrary.com، abs.gov.au، springerlink.com, unsource.com, galegroup.com, visited umi.com as well. Also, those users who referred to ebsco.com and ebrary.com then used databases in sciencedirect.com. based on the above results, it is more beneficial to place those web sites which their databases are used together, in the same path(or web page.) in this way users are able to satisfy more information needs. Furthermore, the information retrieval speed will be increased.
In addition, some product used together in the same transaction. For example, 673546165327426.pdf and x61m545652q08048.pdf products were downloaded at the same time. Also, those users who downloaded the adajia.pdf product then download the zdaw1a.pdf product. This shows the association relationships among these products. By using this information about correlations and association relationships among data, it is possible to provide efficient designing algorithms for placing products in a websites and can help in many business decision making processes, such as catalogue design, cross marketing and loss –leader analysis.
