Source text - English The human population growth of the last century has been truly phenomenal. It required only 40 years after 1950 for the population to double from 2.5 billion to 5 billion. This doubling time is less than the average human lifetime. The world population passed 6 billion just before the end of the 20th century. Present estimates are for the population to reach 8-12 billion before the end of the 21st century. During each lecture hour, more than 10,000 new people enter the world, a rate of ~3 per second! Of the 6 billion people, about half live in poverty and at least one fifth are severely undernourished. The rest live out their lives in comparative comfort and health. The factors affecting global human population are very simple. They are fertility, mortality, initial population, and time. The current growth rate of ~1.3% per year is smaller than the peak which occurred a few decades ago (~2.1% per year in 1965-1970), but since this rate acts on a much larger population base, the absolute number of new people per year (~90 million) is at an all time high. The stabilization of population will require a reduction in fertility globally. In the most optimistic view, this will take some time.	Translation - Persian (Farsi) رشد جمعیت انسان درقرن پیش واقعا شگفت آور بوده است. پس از سال 1950 تنها 40 سال طول کشید که جمعیت از 2.5 میلیارد نفر دو برابر شود و به 5 میلیارد نفر افزایش یابد. این زمان دو برابر شدن جمعیت کمتر از مدت زندگی متوسط انسان است.جمعیت جهان قبل از پایان قرن بیستم از 6 میلیارد نفر نیز گذشت. براوردهای کنونی حاکی از آن است که جمعیت جهان قبل از پایان قرن بیست و یک به عدد 8 - 12 میلیارد نفر می رسد. در طول هر ساعت سخنرانی بیش از 10000 نفر به دنیا می آیند، یعنی چیزی در حدود تقریبا 3 نفر در ثانیه. از 6 میلیارد نفر جمعیت کنونی جهانی نزدیک به نیمی از آنها در فقر به سر می برند و حداقل یک پنجم آنها از سوء تغذیه رنج می برند و بقیه زندگی راحت و سلامتی دارند. عواملی که جمعیت انسانهای جهان را تحت تاثیر قرار می دهند بسیار ساده اند. این عوامل عبارتند از باروری،مرگ و میر، جمعیت اولیه و زمان . نرخ رشد 1.3 % کنونی جمعیت جهان کمتر از اوج نرخ رشدی است که چند دهه پیش داشت) 2.1 % در سال طی سالهای 1965 - 1970 (، اما از آنجا که این نرخ رشد در مورد جمعیت بسیار بیشتری اعمال می شود، تعداد قطعی افراد متولد شده در هر سال )تقریبا 90 میلیون نفر( همیشه رقم بالاتری است. ثابت کردن رشد جمعیت نیازمند کاهش باوروری در سطح جهان است. در خوشبینانه ترین حالت این کار زمان زیادی طول می کشد
