I am a native Portuguese speaker and I currently work as a freelancer translator for the following language pairs:

English – Portuguese
French – Portuguese
Spanish – Portuguese
German - Portuguese

I did my education in Physics. I have a degree in Physics Engineering from the Lisbon University and afterwards I did my Ph.D in Switzerland (at CERN) in the field of nuclear physics applied to material science, where the main working languages were English and French.

After the completion of the Ph.D, I was offered the opportunity to work with a renowned company of technology development, to translate several technical manuals (english to Portuguese) related with lasers, water pumps and a semiconductor cutting machine used in industry (10/2008). Since then I've worked with several agencies and I've done several translations of manuals within a large range of fields (trains, tobacco industry, etc.)

The experience with Spanish is as old as me. I was born in a Portuguese town just across the Spanish border and some members of my family are Spanish, so for me Spanish has always been like my second native language...

As for German, I live in Germany already for 5 years and since then I've done several German courses.

Nowadays I don´t perform only translations. Since March 2009 that I'm working as Portuguese Teacher in a Language School.

My translation specialization fields are essentially related with Industry, Science and Technology, but I also translate general type of texts.

As a freelancer translator, I can undertake concise and accurate translations with in a competitive timeline.
