BRIEF HISTORY OF XXX
XXX (formerly known as XXX or XXX) was created in 2001. XXX has had some of the most low performing schools in XXX. Battling educational discrimination and injustice, parents and community based organizations founded XXX to empower themselves so that they can improve education, create better schools, and build stronger communities. XXX unites parents, neighborhood residents, community-based organizations and a university to build a movement to ensure that the children of the XXX receive the highest quality education. Through organizing our community and building alliances with others struggling for educational justice, XXX strives to create change for our children.
How XXX Functions:
XXX is a multicultural and bilingual collaborative, focused on parents and children. It is led by parents. The role of parents includes but is not limited to:
- Creating and shaping vision for the organizing work/defining campaigns;
- Recruiting and sustaining new members;
- Mentoring others to bring them to the next level of leadership;
- Facilitating meetings;
- Public Spokespersons for the Collaborative;
- Having final decision making authority;

Crew
Each student at our school is a member of a crew that will stay together for at least two years. Crews exercise together, discuss literature they have read, local or national issues of concern, and issues within the crew or school community. Portfolios
Students at our school use portfolios to organize their work and reflect on their progress. As they approach graduation, students select examples of their work from each folder to build graduation portfolios that are presented to a panel of adults.
Strong Focus on College Preparation
All students will meet college entrance requirements by graduation and will be proficient in the core subject areas of English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies as well as health, foreign language and the arts. ARTICLE II
UNION SECURITY
Either (a) membership in the Union or (b) written authorization to the Employer to make Union dues deductions each month shall be required of all Employees in the bargaining unit as a condition of employment on or after (1) the 31st day following the beginning of employment or re-employment or (2) the 31st day after the execution of this Agreement, whichever is later, and thereafter. Upon the Union's request in writing and upon twenty (20) days written notice to the Employee, the Employer shall discharge any Employee who has failed to pay Union dues as required by this Article. The Employer shall have no responsibility to insure that Employees sign and file proper and current check-off authorizations. However, the Employer agrees to provide newly hired Employees with dues check-off authorization cards at the time of hire and to forward such authorization cards to the Union. The Union agrees that it will indemnify and hold the Employer harmless from any recovery of damages sustained by reasons of any action taken under this Article.

That was the reason xxx arrived in the United States, amidst struggle, nostalgia for the home he left in La Paz, and a father, mother and sisters who were missing from his life, but he was able to fight hard as you correctly say, with the effort of the moral tradition which he kept in his heart. xxx was tender, sweet, delicate in his artistic tastes, refined in his social and family customs, he was a true gentleman and that class aided him in being welcomed in the offices where later, after struggling a lot, he was able to secure a permanent position which allowed him to master business in New York. |
