Source text - English When a speaker uses a second language, the linguistic structures of his/her own language are sometimes unknowingly transferred to the target language. This is called pragmatic transfer. If the linguistic structures (speech acts) are not adequate or are unusual in the target culture, this could cause a native interlocutor to give a wrong interpretation of the intention of the speaker. Unawareness of the linguistic strategies that are typical of a different culture can cause misinterpretations on the intention of the speaker and even to provoke losing face, which in business might lead to a potential conflict in negotiation. The results of this study, thus, can be applied to the creation of guidelines to improve communication with and interpretation of people of different cultures. By knowing how each group transmits their cultural values in their speech, speakers can understand better the motivations of their counterparts communicate more effectively and avoid conflict. This paper analyses the pragmatic transference of speech acts produced by native speakers of French (France) and Spanish (Spain) when they use English as a second language in the context of persuasive discourse in business negotiation. The 22 participants are all managers of a French company working at its branch in Barcelona (Spain). In this preliminary study we’ll contrast both quantitatively and qualitatively the occurrence and frequency of speech acts in both groups in a sample based on written text (email) in English. Our hypothesis is that quantitative differences will indicate pragmatic transference from their own languages. For the qualitative analysis of pragmatic transfer we will take into consideration the variables of power and social distance that are reflected in the use of courtesy. Our findings will be contrasted with the proposals of Geert Hofstede, to assess whether there is a relation between each culture and these linguistic differences. Results show that there are differences in the way each group address the different interlocutors; being the participants in the group of Spanish language more direct in their productions while the French group tends to use strategies that put distance between them and the interlocutor. Findings here show that there are certain visible correspondences between the distinctive characteristics of every language and the differences in scores found in the cultural dimensions of Hofstede. The results of this study could contribute to the creation of a communication and interpretation guide between people of different cultures which, by showing how each group transmit their cultural values in the discourse could help both parts to interpret successfully the intention of speaker, communicate in a more efficient way and avoid conflict.	Translation - Spanish Cuando un hablante se expresa en un segundo idioma, en ocasiones utiliza estructuras lingüísticas propias de su propia lengua. Esto se denomina Transferencia pragmática. Si estas estructuras lingüísticas (actos de habla) no son adecuados o son inusuales en la cultura del interlocutor, éste podría interpretar erróneamente la intención del hablante. El desconocimiento de las estrategias lingüísticas de otra cultura puede causar interpretaciones erróneas sobre la intención del hablante e incluso provocar un daño en la imagen pública, lo cual en el mundo empresarial puede provocar un conflicto potencial en una negociación. El presente estudio estudia la transferencia pragmática de actos de habla en el discurso persuasivo de hablantes nativos del español peninsular y hablantes nativos de francés (Francia) cuando utilizan inglés como idioma de contacto en contexto del mundo empresarial. Los 22 participantes son ejecutivos de una empresa francesa con sede en Barcelona. En este estudio preliminar contrastaremos cuantitativa y cualitativamente la frecuencia de estos actos de habla en los dos grupos en un corpus de texto escrito (email) en inglés. Las diferencias indicarán la transferencia pragmática de sus propias lenguas. Analizaremos la transferencia pragmática tomando en consideración las variables interlocutor y grupo. Finalmente, contrastaremos los resultados de estas particularidades de cada idioma con las puntuaciones de cada país obtenidas en las dimensiones culturales planteadas por Geert Hofstede. Los resultados muestran que se aprecian diferencias en la forma en que cada grupo se dirige a los distintos interlocutores, siendo el grupo de habla española más directo y cercano, mientras que el grupo de habla francesa tiende a utilizar estrategias que les alejan del interlocutor. De la conclusión se extrae que hay ciertas correspondencias visibles entre las características propias de cada lengua y las diferencias en las dimensiones culturales de Hofstede. Los resultados de este estudio podrían contribuir a la creación de una guía de comunicación e interpretación entre personas de diferentes culturas que, al mostrar cómo transmite cada grupo sus valores culturales en el discurso, ayudaría a comprender mejor la intención de un hablante de otra cultura; a comunicar de forma más eficaz al dirigirse a personas de una cultura diferente y evitar conflictos.

Source text - English PRI NETWORK INTERFACE MODULE Network Cable and Network Connection The PRI (Primary Rate Interface) network interface module is designed to be CPE (Customer Premise Equipment).This means the PRI network interface module does not generate a clock signal to the network. Instead, the module derives the clock from the upstream switch or from the PBX to which it is connected. This is sometimes referred to as slave mode. Note 1: The term upstream refers to network devices that are closer to the telephone service provider. The term downstream refers to network devices that are closer to some video communications unit. For example, the PRI network interface module might be downstream from your PBX, which, in turn, is downstream from a telephone company switch. Your PBX is upstream from the PRI network interface module. SNAPSHOT You can send a snapshot from any local camera to the participants in a videoconference by using the snapshot feature on your videoconference system. Snapshot Timeout By default, all slides and snapshots are displayed for a period of four minutes. However, when this option is disabled, the snapshot or slide stays on screen indefinitely until the user presses the snapshot button on the remote control to return to live video. To disable this option: Select System Info>Admin Setup>Video/Camera>TV Monitors. In the TV Monitors screen, deselect Snapshot Timeout. MANAGE IDENTITIES Identities are different subsets of passwords from which you can seamlessly switch back and forth. You can create an identity called “home” or “work”, anything that will help you to manage your passwords.
