Born in the Netherlands, I studied both science and languages (Dutch, English, German and French) up to university level, at which point I chose to specialize in IT.

I worked in many different countries over the years in the fields of IT and sales. Besides my native Holland, I lived in Scotland, India, Poland and Italy, until I settled in Germany.

Having had no formal higher linguistic education, I still managed to collect sufficient translation experience by doing voluntary work for non-profit organisations, before I decided to become a professional freelance translator.

Although I am not a certified translator, I have a very good feeling for languages and I am able to work in a wide range of specialist fields. I have lived and worked in many different countries, actively using all languages I work with (Dutch, English and German) on a professional, as well as a personal level.
