Source text - Greek Σύνδεση με GDS – Διεθνείς Κλήσεις Η υπηρεσία Voice Over IP του GUnet/ΕΔΕΤ παρέχει επιπλέον τη δυνατότητα πραγματοποίησης κλήσεων προς διεθνείς φορείς που συμμετέχουν στο δίκτυο Global Dialling Scheme (GDS). Το GDS είναι το πλάνο αριθμοδότησης στο οποίο βασίστηκε το διεθνές δίκτυο φωνής και video πάνω από το πρωτόκολλο IP που αναπτύχθηκε από το ViDeNet. Το GDS χρησιμοποιεί την ιεραρχία των gatekeepers με «εθνικούς» (national), «περιοχικούς» (regional), και «ιδρυματικούς» (institutional) gatekeepers. Η αριθμοδότηση που ακολουθείται είναι η ίδια με την τηλεφωνική (Ε.164) με τη διεθνή μορφή: 00-κωδικός χώρας-κωδικός περιοχής-αριθμός. Ο κεντρικός gatekeeper της υπηρεσίας αποτελεί τον «εθνικό» gatekeeper της Ελλάδας και έχει δηλωθεί στο διεθνές δίκτυο GDS με σκοπό να εξυπηρετεί τις κλήσεις με πρόθεμα «0030». Τα Ακαδημαϊκά Ιδρύματα της Ελλάδας έχουν τη δυνατότητα να πραγματοποιούν διεθνείς κλήσεις προς το δίκτυο GDS αν έχουν ορίσει τις κλήσεις με πρόθεμα "00" να προωθούνται στον κεντρικό gatekeeper (gk.gunet.gr ή gkp.grnet.gr). Αυτός με τη σειρά του προωθεί τις συγκεκριμένες κλήσεις σε παγκόσμιους gatekeepers, οι οποίοι γνωρίζουν όλους τους «εθνικούς» gatekeepers. Συνεπώς, εφόσον ένα Ίδρυμα προωθεί τις κλήσεις με πρόθεμα "00" προς τον κεντρικό gatekeeper (gk.gunet.gr ή gkp.grnet.gr), ο τελικός χρήστης αυτού του Ιδρύματος έχει τη δυνατότητα να καλεί μέσω της τηλεφωνικής του συσκευής, ή του τερματικού σταθμού H323 τους αριθμούς των χρηστών ή των συσκευών τηλεδιάσκεψης των διεθνών φορέων που συμμετέχουν στο διεθνές δίκτυο GDS.

Translation - English GDS Link – International calls The GUnet/GRnet Voice Over IP service also offers you the opportunity to make phone calls towards international bodies that participate in the Global Dialling Scheme (GDS) network. The GDS numbering plan has been based on the international voice and video network over the IP protocol developed by ViDeNet. GDS uses the gatekeepers’ hierarchy, meaning the “national”, “regional” and “institutional” gatekeepers. The numbering adopted is the same as the E.164 telephonic one with the following international form: 00-country code-location code-number. The central service gatekeeper is the national Greek one and has been declared in the international GDS network with the aim of serving calls which have a “0030” prefix. Academic Institutes in Greece are capable of making international calls towards the GDS network, provided they have defined that “00” prefixed calls will be forwarded to the central gatekeeper (gk.gunet.gr or gkp.grnet.gr). The gatekeeper then forwards specific calls to worldwide gatekeepers which identify all the national ones. As a result, since an Institute forwards the “00” prefixed calls to the central gatekeeper (gk.gunet.gr or gkp.grnet.gr), the terminal Institute user is able to call the numbers of users or teleconferencing devices of the international bodies participating in the international GDS network through their calling device or the H.323 terminal station .
