Experienced technical translator with both technical and linguistic degrees

I have extensive experience in the field of technical translations, doing projects for major global companies both during my freelance career and working as an in-house linguist for an international translation/localization company.

As and enthusiast programmer I'm familiar with software localization process from programmer's side as well. I also have experience in writing technical documentation (English) for software projects.

My strong points:

• Excellent command of English language, both written and spoken. And strong auding skills allow me to understand most native English speakers (British and US).
• Excellent knowledge of Ukrainian and Russian spelling/punctuation/style.
• Good knowledge of translation/localization tools: CAT, QA, subtitling etc. An being a fast learner I can quickly get on board with new tools/processes.
• Deep understanding of software localization process from the point of view of a software developer.

Bio:

• 1996: graduated from Kyiv Polytechnical Institute, Radioelectronics department.
• 2003: started working as a freelance translator, specializing in technical translations and translating video materials (movies, shows, documentaries) for major Ukrainian TV companies (Inter, 1+1).
• 2006: graduated from Kyiv State Linguistic University, English and German languages.
• 2008: started working as an in-house linguistic specialist for Logrus International / Logrus IT company.
• 2018: returned to freelance translating.
