I started working as a secretary in Italy (for a construction engineering company first and subsequently for manufacturers of testing and calibration equipment), with translations being part of my duties.
Subsequently I worked for the EU Council in Brussels and then moved to the UK, working mainly for the local government and NHS Trust for 10 years, refining my knowledge of the English language and developing a keen interest in gardening, for which I gained an RHS Certificate.
I have a Certificate of Interpreter and Translator in English and I have been working freelance over about 4 years, translating documents such as policies and procedures, instruction manuals, press releases, tender specifications, articles for technical journals, etc.
I am a volunteer translator for the International Children's Digital Library.
While in the UK, I was admitted as a full member (MITI) of the Institute of Translation & Interpreting.
