From 1994 to 2004 I worked as a medical translator and interpreter in a hospital in Massachusetts. During that time I translated hospital documentation such as medical records, medical research, journal publications, HIPA regulations, consent forms, patient care instructions, pre and post-op instructions, education material and instructional videos.

I have worked as an interpreter and translator for three U.S. Federal Law Judges. For two years I was responsible for the translation and interpretation of all testimony, court proceedings, and documentary evidence presented in the courtrooms. This required the ability to do sight translations and consecutive and simultaneous interpretation. At the same time I worked closely with U.S. Probation Officers and Marshals both in and out of Federal and State prisons.

From 2005 to 2010, in addition to my work as a freelance translator, I also worked as a phone interpreter for Language Service Associates, managing up to 4 hours of phone interpretation per day for medical providers, social service and government agencies, financial, and insurance companies. In addition, I have performed evaluations of medical interpreter's certification tests.


In 2010 I completed a copyediting program at the University of California.
