This can be very unpractical if your target language requires a change of keyboard language.

You can do this in Classic and in Pro, but not in Anywhere (AFAIK). Join the Anywhere list ( [url removed] ) and ask there. Your suggestions will reach the developers directly.

You can copy terms directly with first letter + tab

I may have a glossary entry added, but when it opens the TU, it ignores it (i.e. the source term is not replaced with target term and it has to be done manually), do you know how this can be changed? I guess I am not asking for much, i.e. DVX/MetaTexis have been doing this for years.

Also, if I press Ctrl+Alt+Down arrow as soon as opening a segment (and there is a single term match) what comes up is the first source word and not the term. I have to click a few times Ctrl+Alt+Right arrow to reach the actual term and then when I press Ctrl+Alt+Down it works.

Donatella meant 6.01g, which is the latest *public* version at this time. The latest beta version is currently 6.02w SE (second edition), as you noted yourself.

Dear both, thanks for your replies. I did use paid GT API as Dominique said.

The GT API code works nice on SDL Trados and on WFA, but not this time on wordfast 6.02w installed on MS Word 2010. I downloaded 6.02w from wordfast.net, there's no 6.1g anywhere on wordfast.net as far as I know.

Still looking way to solve this issue...

Dear all, anyone encountered this and how can I solve it?

I installed Wordfast Classic 6.02w on MS Word 2010 on Windows XP, and Google translate API being applied.

However, the Google translate returns the following message when I translating:
"error, errors, domain, global, reason, invalid, message, invalid value, code 400..."

Any hint on how to solve this issue? Thanks!

I got a project originally in Trados TagEditor (.ttx) files.
I was able to open the ttx files in wordfast, however, when I saved the files of course they were saved as .txml files. I have to deliver the files in .ttx format.
Does anyone know how to conver the files back to .ttx format?

Ctrl+Alt+G+G is for toggling the separate Terminology window on and off, it won't affect the dropdown boxes.
I'm not sure what you mean by "restart WF", but Alt+End (to shrink the toolbar) does make the boxes disappear, When you re-expand the toolbar, they're no longer there.

Neither as a service provider (translator), nor as a client I would consider such an option. Why? I mean that my clients don't really care about some third-party privacy policy--all they want is the job done properly, confidentially, and timely. So, once again, I personally see no real use of it.

Furthermore, I don't realize why on-line services are in focus of interest so much--marketing?
I really wish Yyves kept improving WF classic/pro instead of dubious services...

After choosing the location, you can add a new name of your new TM in the appropriate field and then you save it.
Or, if you have already a TM you choose the one that appears in the location desired.

No problem: it's Jing, a free application by Techsmith ( [url removed] ). I highly recommend it. There's a version for Windows and Mac, it allows you to take both still snapshots and record short videos of your screen, and you can post the output to their site ( [url removed] ).

They have a paid version (Pro), but I've managed quite well with the free one so far. I have posted more than 1300 snapshots and videos to my account and I have consumed only 15% of the disk space allocated to me for free (2 GB):

Yes, you're right.
This kind of mistakes is very common -- wrong letter order -- when typing in any language. And unfortunately very difficult to be seen by the writer.

BTW where can I find the application that create that nice RED ARROW you put in the screenshot?
I suppose it's some free add-on, like another one I've seen that creates circles around a word and similar things. But I have no idea where to find this add-on.

Were you sure to indicate the source language in the subject line? That is a requirement otherwise the tool cannot provide a proper word count.

I tried it a few times. My tests were not returned to me unless the files I tried to count were in a zip file. The files appear to be converted to DOCX format, but my MS Word says it is an invalid file and it can't open it. The service does provide a count, though.

Actually, I don't know it either. I think it must be some kind of technical limitation. We should really ask Yves about this.

I have a custom template with custom toolbars (can you spot the cute little icons with red ants?) that I have been using for years. When using it in Word 2010, its dropdown menus all have the same width, as you can see here:

So it looks like Microsoft is the one to blame for narrow glossary dropdown boxes, not Wordfast-

We have released a free word counting service that enables you to email a file or batch of files to an email address (wordcount at wordfast.com) and it automatically sends you back a word count of each file. This is useful for quoting jobs or estimating turnaround times quickly when away from the office. You can even use your PDA or smartphone to email the files.

As always, Wordfast remains committed to complete privacy and confidentiality of our customer's property. Any files that you email to our servers are immediately and irretrievably deleted once the word count is generated. We do not keep these files nor do we share them with anyone.
