I am of Argentine descent and grew up in both Argentina and Canada. I was raised speaking both Spanish and English. As a result, I consider both to be my native languages. I have also studied French and am working on perfecting this third language.
In 2005 I completed 9 years of University education in Spanish, French and Latin American Studies. My language studies covered both literature and linguistics. My inter-disciplinary bachelor's and master's degrees in Latin American Studies provided me with a solid background in philosophy, history, sociology, anthropology, and political economy, among other subjects.
I have worked as a language instructor at Simon Fraser University teaching 1st to 4th year courses, which included grammar, literature and translation. I also developed and provided customized language courses for small groups.
I have worked on countless local community and international development projects. Much of my work in this field included translating and interpreting. As such, I gained invaluable experience in translating written and spoken Spanish from a variety of different countries, recognizing and appropriately translating slang, regional vocabulary and regional grammatical variations.
I am also an avid illustrator, painter, writer and dancer, as such, I have a great passion for and familiarity with language pertaining to arts and culture. It is my dream to some day work in translation of poetry, literature and other cultural texts. | Keywords: translator, interpreter, immigration, social justice, conference, spanish, english, latin america, cultural, thesis, academic, social sciences, humanities, sociology, anthropology, history, political science, politics and government, art, dance, music, festival, congress, tour, regional, slang, youth, children, fast service, literature, poetry, magazine, editor, proofreader, master's, doctoral, traductor, interprete, inmigracion, justicia social, cultura, arte, literatura, periodico, gira, jerga, jovenes, danza, musica, congreso, conferencia, ponencia, tesis |
