Born and raised in Havana, has lived in Cuba, the United States (Georgia, Florida, Ohio, Michigan, Louisiana), Puerto Rico, France and Mexico...Graduate of Ruston Academy in Havana, assistant to Spanish Dept., College of Wooster, Ohio (upon graduating from H.S.), attended Un. of Havana Schools of Social Science and Diplomatic Law and Phil. and Letters ('59-'60)before going to live in Michigan; Wayne State Un. graduate: B.A. French, 1961, M.A. French, 1963, certified Ed., F.L. teacher, 1965; enrolled Un. of Paris, 1965; Ph.D. Wayne State Un., 1977, Modern Langs. and Lits., Prof. Louisiana State Un. '77-'81; self-employed Real-Estate and Construction in Valle de Bravo, Mexico, since mid-eighties; founded Instituto Simone Weil, 1989. Have taught and worked in family business throughout the years, while maintaining an active participation in communities where I have lived. More recently, spent two years in S. Florida (Spanish class selected Best Spanish Class of Miami1997 by New Times of Miami. Presently editing her own work in Spanish, English, French. Samples available in this site.
