ProZ.com is an essential tool for translators and interpreters. For me, it is a virtual work and marketplace. Forums, Powwows, conferences and group buys add a very beneficial social component without which many translators would feel very lost and alone in today's market.

This past year has been great. I woke up one morning deciding to go back to translating full time but I was not 100% sure that my decision was the right one. I left my "safe" English teaching job and recontacted my old clients. It didn't take long and I was soon back on track. Thanks to ProZ I have made contacts with new agencies around the world. I have met colleagues worldwide and found new friends... Words are my passion and this is the ideal job for me with growing children who love to see me around. Je ne peux pas dire dans quelle proportion mon CA a augmenté suite à mon adhésion car j'ai pratiquement démarré mon activité freelance il y quelques années grâce à Proz. Ou alors il faut dire de 0 à 100% ! car mes premiers clients, je les ai trouvés sur Proz. Ma cotisation était payée (largement) dès mon premier contrat.

Mon adhésion à Proz.com m'a permis de répondre à des annonces et de trouver des clients qui, eux-mêmes, m'ont présenté à d'autres clients. Par ailleurs, Proz.com offre une source d'informations, une aide et un réseau capitales pour un traducteur freelance.

I couldn't imagine my quickstart as a professional freelancer without ProZ. I registered as a user a few months ago to "test drive" the website features. Even without a full membership almost 80% of my current jobs come from ProZ Job Postings. Now that I'm well prepared for freelancing rather than hired as an employee, I expect to establish much more relationships with both agencies and partners.

When I first started providing freelance translations I found ProZ.com a great source of information and helpful in many ways. Now it is part of my daily routine. I've been registered with ProZ.com since 2000. I think Henry and the colleagues have done a great job, expanding the translation community and giving it weight and respectful attitude on behalf of the clients and translators.

I have been aware of ProZ.com for a long time, but it never occurred to me to join until recently! Now that I have joined, I wish that I had done so years ago!

Je suis satisfait d'être membre payant, j'ai même rempilé pour 5 ans d'un coup. La vocation du site reste celle d'une plate-forme de socialisation et de mise en relation clients-fournisseurs dont je peux profiter professionnellement.

One thing is for sure, I have never regretted my membership: the forums contain a wealth of extremely useful information and colleagues are always willing to help with advice; the Blue Board has saved me from making bad business decisions on at least two occasions - saving me hundreds if not thousands of Euros and countless hours of lost time; both organizing and attending powwows has allowed me to meet some incredible people and build a strong network. Paying for membership is not only a way to gain access to all the site has to offer, for me it is also a way to support this community and encourage its development.
