ProZ.com also has a very high rating in Google, so your profile or KudoZ questions you have asked or answered (which will link through to your profile) are likely to come up in web searches, thereby increasing your visibility.

I joined ProZ.com pretty much in the very beginning. At that time I was a school student. Obviously, I was not a translator back then, but I have followed the site ever since. Actually, it would be fair to say that ProZ.com was the main factor in my gradual gravitation towards becoming a freelance translator. ProZ.com is where a good share of my clients found me, and I cannot imagine what could cause me to cease my membership here. In fact, becoming a full member was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I am now a full-time freelance translator with university education, and I am very happy to be able to say that I have grown up together with ProZ.com!

I have been a paying member for about 9 months. During that time I have met more than new 10 clients, most of them paying really well and usually on time.

I would certainly recommend becoming a paying member at ProZ.com. I started with a free membership, but I have had much more work since I decided to invest in ProZ.com membership. Now I don't have any delay before quoting for a "private" job posting, I have access to the LWA of every outsourcer on the Blue Board, and I can meet fellow translators via the site or at a powwow.

I am glad to renew my ProZ.com membership. I have been a user of the site since 2001, and a paying member since 2008. I can tell you that it is thanks to ProZ.com that my family and I now live comfortably exclusively from my translation work.
