Dear members,

Many of you have seen the "State of the industry" reports for freelance translators which were given as presentations at the 2nd and 3rd annual Translation Day virtual events in 2010 and this year. These are reports which take a look at some of the changes that are affecting translators, as told by translators. Dear members,

Many of you have seen the "State of the industry" reports for freelance translators which were given as presentations at the 2nd and 3rd annual Translation Day virtual events in 2010 and this year. These are reports which take a look at some of the changes that are affecting translators, as told by translators. They include discussion of the trends, obstacles and opportunities to freelance work in the translation industry today, and how freelance translators are dealing with these trends.

I am pleased now to announce that these annual reports will also be available to ProZ.com members on the site in a dedicated area and in both written and video form. The "published" reports will include a bit more detail and information than the video presentations normally permit.

You can view the State of the industry reports section of the site here. A link to this area is also located under the "Knowledgebase" section of the "Education" menu tab.

I hope you find these useful. Feedback is welcome.
