....so I don't keep any kind of personal diary talking about the latest pair of shoes I bought.
On the professional side, I keep records, not a diary as such, more a collection of files organized in a folder.

Sure, I keep my notes written on my agenda, so I can have an overall situation at a glance (near the keyboard, under the mouse, on the sofa: sometimes they disappear...) and I also keep some electronic sheets to note down any important date and event.
A file for professional events and a file for family-private stuff.
To tell the truth: notes everywhere, I like writing things!

After checking: the Asker's mother tongue is Dutch, not English, which explains the misunderstanding.

Well, most people have Outlook Calendar, so the Asker probably wants to know if people use other electronic organisers, what brand and model and if they are satisfied/dissatisfied with the tool - am I right ?
I do not use any other electronic organiser than Outlook Calendar and I do not have the time to use my paper organiser any more, plus it would be redundant and it has no automatic reminder which pops up in my screen like the Outlook Calendar, which I find very useful.

I replied yes, taking the question to mean diary in the sense of professional agenda. In fact the word 'diary' was less of a problem for me than the ambiguity of the expression "keep a diary" which to my British English ears means "journal".

With telephone, computer etc, beeping all over the show for important unmissable events, which I generally tend not to forget anyway, I like the simplicity and unfailing inconvenience of a paper diary. It does not need batteries, does not represent a great interest to potential thieves and is as speedy to consult as anything which goes beep-beep and lights up.

Is how I interpreted this question. A diary or personal organizer is one way of being neat and tidy.
If anyone saw my office, they'd have a fit. It looks like a bomb just hit it. 
Everything in my head and on the computer, however, is very ship-shape.

I have a small paper diary for noting both personal and professional stuff - at least if it's all in the same place, there's less chance of things clashing.
There's an exercise book on my desk where I log my work details every day: what I'm working on, progress, "to do" list for the next day...
It helps me when I'm working for three clients at once, and should anything happen to me, someone else can see at a glance what is going on. The system was tested recently when... Once the initial panic was over, my boyfend knew straight away which client to call and had no problem sorting things out (I do like the idea of having a handsome male secretary).
Mind you, the recent scare brought home to me that my personal papers are much less organized and I really ought to sort them out!

I wouldn't do without my white board and iCal (synched between iPod and computer) to track work related tasks. I much prefer to use electronic tools for work and to keep paper formats for creative projects.
As far as a diary interpreted to mean a more personal record, I keep an art journal. It's a visual collection of what I learn, want to learn, creative writing, etc. I also have a small book in which I write ideas for future projects, usually revolving around the topics of busines... Yes, I use one and the same paper diary/agenda to note down all my projects and appointments/meetings, whether personal or professional, on a daily basis so that nothing clashes and I have an immediate record of everything.

Because I understood the question as a diary to write my "private prose", which I do not keep. I write to friends and family instead.
I do have a calendar or notebook (several acutally, all paper) for planning purposes: short notes or reference numbers to projects, meetings, visits, appointments, etc. with dates.
