this morning I received the following email from:

Well, perhaps he should make up his mind whether he wants an interpreter or a translator.

Hello Thayenga.
I just saw the very same email except that it was written that "he would be coordinating this job in FRANCE" (not in Germany).
Since I am new on ProZ, it is my first direct email so I'm a stranger to "scams".
Googling his name allowed me to see your message right away (nothing about the name though).
I would not have replied because it looked strange to me (not enough information and I don't offer interpretation services either) but I hope I won't be naive... See more Hello Thayenga.

Henry joined ProZ.com only a few days ago without giving any details about himself.

The strange thing about this sender is that he is a paying member here at ProZ.com.
Perhaps a scammer willing to invest? Or not a scammer?

The funny part of this one is that he's a paying member. Usually scammers want to make and not spend money. To be on the safe side, I've submitted a support request to the moderator.

The general advice published in these various 'Scams' threads is not to enter into any kind of correspondence with these people. Apart from the fact that you might inadvertently be giving them more information about yourself, the fact that you contact them is only likely to validate their action and encourage them.
Remember, if you receive an e-mail via your ProZ.com profile, the sender (scammer?) does not find out your 'real' e-mail address — unless you make the mistake of answering them, in which case you will give it to them, and thus open yourself up to a whole flood of new spam or scams!

I personally would immediately dismiss an offer like this because of the style and lack of information on the outsourcer and on the nature of the offered job (language pair, subject, etc).
We have reports of the same job being offered in France, Germany and Switzerland. If you received similar offer for services requested in other countries please send a support request with a copy of the message received.

I also recieved a mail of this so called Henry Beauperin and transmitted it to a colleague, who just sent me this post. So I thought I might add my 'complaint' to all the others and ask the moderator for more information on this scam.
I never answered the mail and deleted it immediately.
