My CAT tool, like most felines, is a capricious beast. Normally, and for the vast majority of the time, it works perfectly, but is then likely to spew up a whole load of errors at once for one specific project, before returning once again to peace and normality.

Because it's odd not to be given any options between "once or twice a month" and "never".

Seldom, but it may be because I don't use it very often. The only real problem I remember was that it was unable to load a large file.

I don't count errors which are my fault, like when I try to update a project TM that does not exist. But nothing crashes or anything like that on those occasions.

Very occasionally there is a document that is somehow troublesome, but otherwise the CAT works well. It probably helps that all the clients I work with know how to use the system and set up packages, or else I persuade them to send me source documents in a suitable form for the CAT if I am going to use it.

I can't quite vote 'never', but the teething troubles do seem to have been solved, and even with updates, bugs are now few and far between.

A few times a week Jun 30, 2016

I wióuld not say frequently, but definately once or twice a week.
If it is not the one cat then it is the other. Fortunately I have not really lost anythung since I started to save every 30 mins.
But it is still a pain in the neck though.

My main CAT tool is Wordfast PRO and it always works perfectly.

I also use other CATs provided by certain clients, like Memsource and MemoQ, they are not quite as infallible.

I use Wordfast Classic and several times a day I wish that the punctuation and lower/upper case could be the same in the source and target segments. However, I'm too busy to persevere trying to find out how to set this up, or even if it is possible to do it. The few suggestions I've had from fórums have been too complicated or undecipherable for me.

I also have an issue with Dragon NS Premium - for some reason I can't get it to write the words 'next/net' at the beginning of a sentence. It is really, really frustrating, especially when you've paid good money for the software. Sometimes it won't let me add vocabulary, probably because it is already in the memory, but I opened a support ticket about that and the response I got was so long and complex and asked for so many fiddly bits of information that I didn't bother - it's simply quicker for me just to type the words in manually.

A few fails, but this is what I dread the most… Jun 30, 2016

I run Déjà Vu X3 for most of my projects, leaving SDL Trados 2014 for the occasional one by request.

Sometimes, DVX3 throws an error. I'm used to most of them. Recently, I discovered an error (not documented yet by Atril) not due to the software but to the external hard drive: it uses a USB 3.0 connection. Whenever the hard drive is inadvertently disconnected by the computer due to hibernation, and I have Déjà Vu running, then DVX3 throws an error.

I just use DV's tools to preemptively repair any projects or translation memories I was working on and I'm good to go.

Seldom but recently it was aweful Jul 1, 2016

I rarely encounter any error with the CAT tool I use.

The usual error is when the target language of the project package does not match my language I am supposed to do.

Just recently, upon completing all my translation for a project and clicked the 'Save target as', I found out that the tool did not do what it is supposed to do. The word file still has the English version and not the Filipino version. I checked the TM but it was updated. I wonder what was the problem

MemoQ Jul 1, 2016

MemoQ has these buggy errors very often. They do not freeze the program or hinder the other actions, but they keep appearing every now and then, out of nowhere, with no further explanation.
