Hi all,

I am testing a new feature for members that allows you to drag and drop an image or images that you would like to use in your forum post. After dragging the image in, HTML code for the image will appear below the drag and drop box which you can use in your post where you would like the image to appear.

If you have any questions or feedback on this feature, please let me know.

Why not put it on the clipboard automatically?

Yes, who owns the uploaded image? Can the uploaded image be used anywhere else? Is there a way to delete an uploaded image?

Resize seems to work.

Perhaps there should be a maximum width built in to the forum software, in case someone thinks it's a bright idea to remove the style="max-width:800px;".

Great idea. I just updated the feature so that a green button ('Copy Code To Clipboard') will appear which you can click to pop open a window which allows you to easily 'Control C' or 'Command C' to copy the text to your clipboard.

The reason this is not automatic is that, generally speaking, directly copying to the clipboard via JavaScript is not permitted by any modern browser for security reasons. Of course, there are some workarounds, but no guarantee that those will work in different browsers.

Yes, as CafeTran Training stated we are using a 3rd party service http://cloudinary.com.

ProZ.com does not claim ownership over images you submit. However, you grant ProZ.com permission to use any images you submit, for the purposes of providing, developing and supporting ProZ.com's services (i.e. showing the image in the forum). ProZ.com may remove an image at any time for any reason. Do not post content that is illegal or abusive or may violate any third party rights.

Also please refer to the ProZ user agreement.

In short, this feature is merely provided as a convenience for members. You can still host the images yourself just as you have always been able to do.

No.

You can submit a support request.

Well, this is a function of the way this forum works. I could write broken HTML in my post and it would break the page for all viewers. The power is in your hands.

I adjusted the image upload so that the image is automatically scaled to a max width of 800px upon upload.

Thanks

Maybe it would be possible to add a "Like" button to forum posts.

agree with Thomas Jul 23, 2016

It would be very useful indeed with KudoZ questions.

I agree and I also think that this feature would be very useful for KudoZ answers too.
