Dear Users,

I am pleased to announce that we have updated the homepage for "Non logged in visitors" (NLIV).
This new non-logged-in view can be seen on your mobile device.

This is a part of a continued effort to make ProZ.com a more mobile-friendly site.

We will be working on the logged in view in the future

Change is good. Jul 15, 2016

Great news.
Proz.com has used the same interface for ages.
It is great to see that the staff is working towards making user-friendly changes to the websites.
I can't wait to see the new changes that are coming.
Great work!

This whole part can be condensed / removed / moved to the bottom.

IMG_3023

Why not use the full width?

Why the centred text? The 9 and 382 are quite meaningless this way. The part below the message subject can be arranged more compact.

The folder icon is not necessary.

IMG_3024

Can I have the Most Recent Posts link always at the top? Also in message view please.

I'd also say: place this part (Most Recent Posts up to Forums about Proz.com) at the top--instead of the current arrangement.

Some improvement already Jul 27, 2016

Okay, the messages list now has full width on my iPhone. Thanks. In order to reduce the need for scrolling, how about condensing this part:

To something like:

P Evelio Clavel Rosales SITE STAFF / D Jul 1554 / V 89 / R CafeTran Training / Jul 26

With V for views etc.

Also: the width for images has to be adapted to the tiny screen

Update has a negative effect on desktop experience Jul 27, 2016

When viewed on a desktop, the mobile-optimised forum pages are too wide for the browser window and now include a horizontal scroll bar to allow for viewing of the final 2 cm.

Also, vertical separator lines have disappeared, the menu bar is wider (taller) and the menu items are not the same in the two versions (forum page vs. other pages). It is very annoying that going between pages the entire layout shifts.

Language selector issue Jul 27, 2016

Previously, I could use the area on the screen bottom to select any language for the site. Now, I only see a drop-down list on the screen top containing 15 languages.

Desktop layout suffers Jul 27, 2016

The layout and the usability have deteriorated considerably. But I assume that the mobile hype has finally arrived at ProZ.

As somebody who gave presentations on the use of mobile devices for translators since 2009, I have seen trends come and go - and I learned what makes sense and what doesn't. Using SDL Studio or MemoQ on a smartphone for example does not make any sense (but it is possible).

ProZ was always a bit behind. My guess is that we will see a ProZ Pokemon Go implementation in 2020.

Thanks everyone for the feedback Jul 28, 2016

I agree in that some of the changes applied so far may have an undesirable effect on desktop experience. Evelio is currently working to resolve those.

So please, if you notice any other issues with how the forums are viewed, in navigation or posting options, or with any other recent changes, please let us know. We are doing the best we can to optimize ProZ.com for mobile devices, but without affecting desktop user experience, and your feedback is precisely what we need at this point

Is it possible to move something? Jul 29, 2016

The tick-box to track further posts in the thread is way down at the bottom. It's actually below all the links to other forums etc, divorced from the current topic.

I feel it needs to be raised, at least to after the button to submit a support request. But, personally, I'd like to see it at the top. I like to keep my email inbox relatively clear so I generally open new topics asap. Sometimes I can tell I'm interested but I don't have time to read every word. So a "track" box at the

Advanced forum search Jul 29, 2016

In the advanced forum search ( http://www.proz.com/?sp=forum&action=SearchForum&advanced=y ), the search options stretch miles across my screen.
For example, the "Search specific forum(s)" field has a huge amount of white horizontal space but limited vertical distance, so it's quite hard to find a topic if you don't know what you're looking for.

Is it possible to make Safari's Reader View available for all messages in a thread?

I see that Microsoft Edge's Reading View is triggered by other parameters:
