"People's Communes Rock" would have been a good translation if the term were available at the time.
北京话说某某人或某某事“真冲“，意即“真棒”. 虽然和流行音乐无关，也可表达敬慕赞许之意. 当然各地方言有所不同, 说法是很多的了.
I'd say anything that could be said simultaneously with the thumbs up gesture is probably good.

若『支那樂吉不夠』政確 POLITICALLY CORRECT，就更正成廣東話『中國真威水！』好了。有時覺得把中國英譯成CHINA(有點像黃教授)很有問題，不過這是題外話。與其說胡錦濤不懂英語，不如說布什不諳華語，不懂禮貌，此間報紙BOSTON GLOBE 就用布什拉胡衣袖的照片做頭條新聞，說 PUT HU BACK TO THE RIGHT SPOT，語帶諷刺，目的是指布什出洋相，中文標題是否可用『胡扯』？千萬不要太認真，否則又犯了政治不正確的毛病了。

That was funny.
I was curious as to what happened there, but couldn't find anything. My guess it was a simple matter of showing Hu where to stand. IMHO, Bush's folksy mannerisms are his main appeal to people. It certainly isn't his policies.
While looking, I found this instead. It's good to see that the Chinese government has on its agenda some of the domestic issues that get mentioned here from time to time.

But at the end of his visit, speaking to an audience of 600 at Bush's alma mater, Yale University, Hu indicated his preference for different terminology: "Both China and the United States are of significant influence in the world," he said.
"Our two countries must not only be stakeholders, but should also become partners in constructive co-operation."
It is this concept of China and the US working in partnership that most appeals to Beijing, which has always questioned Washington's case for global supremacy. And the notion of "stakeholders" is intrinsically alien to the Chinese system, where in theory at least, leaders lead for as long as the mandate of heaven persists, and everyone else simply does what is required of them. Hu also talked at Yale of "win-win" outcomes for joint ventures in China, a new favoured phrase for Chinese leaders. Premier Wen Jiabao used it several times on his recent visit to Australia - happily for Australian businesses hoping for improved access out of the free trade agreement under negotiation.
Hu told the Yale students that despite China's rising trade surplus with the US, his country hardly comprised a threat to US living standards. Its average gross domestic product per head of $US1700 did not even earn it a place in the 100 wealthiest countries in the world.
"China's development will not compromise the interests of other nations, nor will China's development threaten anyone," he said.
The country's attention was riveted on "social harmony" - reducing the imbalance between rich city folk and poor farmers.
"We need to concentrate our energy and resources on resolving those problems, and that's why we hope to see a peaceful international environment."
American business appears not to need convincing. When Hu, in a rare moment of informality, put on a baseball cap with the Boeing logo during a visit to the company in Seattle, Boeing chief executive Alan Mullaly whooped: "China rocks!"
He had another reason for his high spirits - China had earlier signed a contract for 80 next-generation Boeing 737s worth $US4.6billion. The Chinese President then dined at Microsoft chairman Bill Gates's home, where he was toasted with Dom Perignon that would have put a dent in his average annual earnings, and then told his host later at Microsoft HQ: "I use the operating system produced by Microsoft every day."
The message: with business, almost everything is possible, is negotiable. With politics, there's a line in the sand. Hu spoke at Yale of a historic commitment to "unremitting self-improvement.
"Nothing is more valuable in the universe than human beings," he said. He vowed to "vigorously promote social and economic development, protect people's freedom, democracy and human rights according to law, achieve social fairness and justice and enable the 1.3billion Chinese people to live a happy life".
"But", he was asked, "given a system that allows economic freedom while restricting personal freedoms, what is your strategy to enhance civil and human rights?"
"To be frank with you, I'm a materialist," replied Hu - unsurprisingly for a figure who has recently led an ideological renewal of China's ruling Communist Party.
"The sustained and rapid economic development demonstrates that China's political system suits its economic development.
"We will not simply copy the political model of other countries."
