There's a new search feature to find fellow students from all over the world! http://www.proz.com/?sp=student_search

Now you'll have the chance to contact those students studying at your country, connect with those studying maybe at the other end of the world, share experiences, make new ProZian friends, and specially if you are planning to study abroad, ask about courses, scholarships, accommodation and all those things you always wanted to know!

  • Select a country and click on the search button, and you'll get the list of all students registered in the site that are studying in that country.
  • Go more specific and select a country and a school out of the universities' list, and you'll be able to contact students at that institution.

Remember that if you have not filled in the university field in your new student profiles URL , you will not appear in any search!

Also, notice that on the right side of the page there's a top five list of universities. Universities with more students registered in the site will appear in that list. We plan to take that a bit further in the future and create pages for you to develop your universities' virtual spaces within the site, where you can show your school, post about events, make photo galleries, comment on your work, create blogs...and well basically anything your great minds may come up with!

So, start filling in those fields and invite classmates to do so too, so that your school makes it to the top!

    Later !

Well, well, well...that was a short taste of victory right?
We swept you away ESTRI! fiuuu

Now, even though I personally enjoy that my University is number one at the top 5 Universities, I really encourage you to fill in your university fields and take your shot at making it to the major schools at the site.

I can think of many reasons why it would be advisable for you to fill in that field, just to name five:

  • Your profiles would be more complete... See more

I can think of many reasons why it would be advisable for you to fill in that field, just to name five:

  • Your profiles would be more complete. A student profile that does not have the University field, sounds like a profile that needs some help. Think of your profile as your business card!

  • Your school would gain more visibility and reputation being at the top five universities in the largest translator's site in the world.

  • You, individually, would gain more visibility. It is highly probable that people that visit that page hits on the top five universities, that is, seeing your name and getting a link to your profile.

  • If you do not have that field complete you do not appear in the search!

  • Personally, seeing my university at the top makes me feel very very proud - beating Annes' school is an extra.

    So, come on!!!

Take the chances that the site is giving you to network, participate, get involved, start paving your way into translation world. Trust me, the sooner the better.

I already feel like an old lady giving advice to the young generations here, but well I 'm sure some of you will find it interesting and useful.

    See you around!
