Abstract Translation has always had many challenges, one of which is how to achieve a natural one. The term natural is a more challengeable term as there is no consensus on its definition. Different fields of studies offer different equivalences for it. The focus of this study lies within manifestation of ‘natural translation’ and finding involved factors to reach or lose it. It tries to gather a set of techniques proposed by various researchers in order to achieve a natural translation. Interference is known as the central point of failure in achieving naturalness. Interference threats the quality of translation when translator fails to transfer the original text to the target language appropriately, in term of considering target language norms. Among solutions offered to treat this problem adjustment is a more common strategy. It will be said that shifts as subset of adjustment is the most effective tools to avoid unnaturalness. It is tried to gather a set of techniques proposed by various researchers in order to achieve a natural translation.
