One of Marshall Morris's favorite Puerto Rican writers is Eddie Lpez, a newspaperman and humorist who wrote for the San Juan Star from the mid-1960s until his death in 1971. Lpez published a series of letters under the name of "Candid Flowers," the English "translation" of the perfectly plausible Spanish name Candido Flores.
