A Notre Dame professor says the Irish language is gaining popularity at the university as students seek to connect with their cultural heritage.

Brian O’Conchubhair (BREE’-an) (O KAHN’-uh-coor) is an associate professor of Irish in Notre Dame’s Irish Language and Literature department. He says many of the department’s students want to explore their identity, but others are just looking for something fun and different.
