The Office of Communications of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in New York is interested in enrolling a translation school graduate intern to help build up its translation assets (creation of glossaries and translation memories (TM)). This is the chance to help the UN leading development agency better serve its constituents through the provision of quality, consistent translation. Interested candidates should apply by July 25, 2011 via email to [email protected]. Your application should include a cover letter and resume.

Duties and Responsibilities. The interested candidate will assist the Communications Services Unit in the following tasks:

  • Creation and maintenance of translation memories and glossaries.
  • Participation in the coordination of translation projects.
  • Editing and proofreading of translated material;

Competencies

  • Translation project management experience an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Interest in human development and the United Nations;
