National Seminar on Translation in the age of Globalization to be held in IGNOU

School of translation Studies and Training of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is organizing a National Seminar on “Translation in the age of Globalization: Cultures Languages Identities” on March, 21, 22 & 23, 2013 to consider various issues related to the topic of the seminar.
Dr.M.S.Sikandar, Director NBT shall be the Guest  of Honor while Prof. Namwar Singh, Eminent Critic shall be the Chief Guest.
India today stands as one of the most interesting cases of ironies of globalization. This irony extends to both promotion of certain languages and cultures as well as erosion or endangerment of other languages and cultures. These processes have been generally studied in terms of politics of culture, production and formation. Translation has played its role in them, and would increasingly do in future. More.
