“I love the intense reading experience, particularly where poetry and literary prose are concerned, the process of really engaging with a text, constructing meaning, and then having to act on this reading experience, not keeping it to yourself, but allowing it to flow into a text that will be read by others. With children’s literature, I particularly love the whole process of recreating humour.”
