TAUS is releasing today a new directory of translation technologies as a free and open service to the global translation industry. The directory contains listings of translation support tools, machine translation engines and language technology tools.

Amsterdam, Netherlands, April 05, 2014 –(PR.com)– The TAUS Directories of translation technologies is designed for use by both translation professionals and technology developers with many options to refine searches to specific needs. Users can also provide feedback on listings.

“The global translation technology landscape is a vibrant sector,” says Jaap van der Meer, director of TAUS. “We see new entrants coming into the market every week. Sometimes they are large global players with an ‘all languages’ solution, but often the new tools come from small commercial or academic developers who cracked one specific language or content problem with a smart software solution. It’s hard for translation professionals and developers to keep track and find the right tools for the job. We are making TAUS Directories available as a public and free resource.”

The TAUS Directories contains already 200 products at the launch. Commercial and academic developers can easily create and edit their own listings. TAUS members can upload demonstration videos and other multimedia resources to enhance their listing. More.
