This session is intended for all those, who never tried to use Trados or have just started or feel lost when using it.
If you are already able to translate with Trados on your own in Word, the first part will still be interesting to you due to the usage of TagEditor.
After the training you should be able to use Trados to translate all formats your customer might ask you.
Please note, that you should be proficient with Windows, Word and other typical programs, because during the training there will be no time for explaining this. You must know how to create a folder, copy a file, rename it and so on.
Important information!
This training adresses SDL Trados 2007 Suite. You will need to bring your own laptop with installed software. During the training there will be no time for installation issues.

Translation of a simple Word file using TagEditor, including:
explanation of match and match types
usage of so called “placeables”
substitution localization
concordance function
keyboard shortcuts

Producing the final document and proof reading of the translation
Using automated verifiers in TagEditor (only possible with registered full version of the software)
Text analysis and interpreting the results
Exporting, importing and changing the direction of a translation memory
Part two – demonstration of some problems and how to avoid them (approx. 1 h)
Format changes in Word and comparison with TagEditor
Error while writing breaks in TagEditor
Dealing with a PowerPoint presentation with bad formatting
Part three– creating an own term base and using MultiTerm (approx. 1 h)
