I agree with Dianna that I missed more information on the practical use of the tool. I felt some times that time was wasted browsing around things that are self-explanatory, and then there was not much time left to go hands-on. I also registered to this one instead of Getting Started following the advice in the programs, because I used Trados since year 2000, and as Dianna, I felt sometimes that I took the wrong decision... Even the trainer mentioned once that we should attend the Getting Started to learn about something...

The material and this specific course were not available in my account, despite the trainer (Becky) insisted several times that it was us who were not looking at the right place (are we all so slow?). But after I wrote to SDL and to ProZ support, they were really helpful and solved the issue instantly.

I agree also that making a recording of the webinar available would have been most valuable. Anyway, I thank Becky a lot that she warned us at the start that it was not going to be recorded.

In short, I think that if we had had the materials available some days before the training, it would have been much more profitable. This training is oriented for people who know Trados AND have read a bit about Studio 2009 first.

"I had a very positive experience at the webinar yesterday and liked how Becky presented it. I was able to follow her during most of the three hours it had lasted, however, I wished she would repeat a couple of times the new commands and shortcuts so I could write them down properly.

And I agree with Dianna Fry, I have the same problems - I cannot find the training materials on SDL website:

"Even though Becky delivered the webinar in a highly professional manner, I was disappointed that she didn't go into very basic features, such as how to open and process packages and individual files from clients and how to return them after translation, as this knowledge is vital in order to use Studio 2009, and definitely would not have been acquired with Trados 2007. I had been having problems in this area and it was actually SDL Support who had advised me to go on this webinar rather than SDL Trados Studio 2009 Getting Started. The description of the webinar doesn't really make it clear which webinar is best suited to one's requirements and, sadly, I must have been advised to attend the wrong one, even though I have had several years' experience with Trados 2007 so would have presumed this was the right one for me.
Secondly, although I have followed the directions very carefully, it is proving very difficult to access the training material at https://oos.sdl.com/asp/products/ssl/account/
In fact, I can't even find the course that I attended under the list of courses."

"Generally, I was very happy with the training session and the trainer, who was very helpful. There was a time lag between the speech of the trainer and the screen shots appearing on my screen. As the trainer was obliged to proceed quite quickly because of the volume of material to be covered, this occasionally made it quite difficult to follow her instructions (by the time the screen showed the action being described, the trainer had moved onto the next item). Also, the sound was not as loud as I would have liked (unlike a previous training session I have 'attended', where there was no problem - this would suggest it was not a problem with my set-up but perhaps with the phone line used by the trainer?). "I am quite satisfied overall with the training. Becky Blackley answered questions appropriately but deferred answers rather than getting sidetracked in order to cover all course material. A technical glitch resulted in a quarter-hour interruption halfway through the session and there was no clear message to me as an attendee that the session was to resume and had not been cancelled. Also, there was an appreciable video lag despite my high-speed connection. This made some training sequences difficult to follow."
