Source text - German MIETVERTRAG §8 Mietgleitklausel 8.1 Sollte sich der Verbraucherpreisindex für Deutschland, ermittelt vom Statistischen Bundesamt Basis 2000 = 100, gegenüber dem Indexstand bei Mietbeginn nach oben oder unten verändern, so ändert sich die Miete entsprechend, und zwar mit der Maßgabe, dass die erste Veränderung 24 Monate nach dem Beginn der Mietzahlungsverpflichtung eintritt. Nachfolgende Anpassungen der Miete erfolgen alsdann jeweils regelmäßig nach Ablauf weiterer 24 Monate um den dann eingetretenen Veränderungs-satz des vorgenannten Verbraucher-preisindex. 8.2 Sollte der vorgenannte Verbraucher-preisindex vom Statistischen Bundes-amt in seiner bisherigen Form nicht mehr fortgeführt werden, so tritt an seine Stelle der ihm am nächsten kommende neue Index. 8.3 Den Parteien ist bekannt, dass die vorgenannte Mietgleitklausel gemäß § 4 der Preisklauselverordnung in Verbindung mit § 2 der Preisklausel-verordnung als genehmigt gilt. I first started thinking about freelance translation services as a professional alternative four years ago. Being a native bi-lingual German and English speaker it figured. My first translation was for a small financial analyst in Frankfurt and I have since worked for him regularly. By the end of 2008 I quit my job with company selling real estate for investment in the collapsing market.

But that wasn’t my only professional experience:

4 years of television news-writing, producing and editing for CNN New York,
2 years paralegal secretary for international law firms in Germany,
Half a year in asset management for non-performing debt and
2 years pre-selling real estate to private investors in Germany

My educational background has dependend on the success of my writing at all times:

Abitur in Germany majoring in English and German,
a scholarship for College at a liberal arts school in Manhattan earned the B.A. in Social Science,
a scholarship for Graduate School at the same liberal arts school in Manhattan earned the M.A. in Political Science,
