Se trata de un hecho novedoso que implica utilizar el instrumento "Colegio" para formar laicos misioneros y promover las vocaciones consagradas.
Es novedoso en cuanto a la modalidad y porque se trata de un proyecto distintivo del colegio, a tal punto que si no se realizara, el colegio no tendría razón de ser. No sucede esto con otras escuelas no confesionales cuyo objetivo es colaborar con los padres en la educación de los niños sin tener en cuenta la dimensión religiosa del hombre. Tampoco coincide, totalmente, con las escuelas católicas, ya que estas no incluyen en su ideario la proyección misionera. Sí coincide parcialmente en cuanto a que toda educación en la fe es educar para la misión que Cristo le confió a la Iglesia.
Lo distintivo del Colegio Redemptoris Missio es la apertura de los contenidos pedagógicos y toda la vida de la comunidad educativa, en una perspectiva misionera como "deber- derecho " de todo bautizado y con dimensión universal.
Objetivo General
El proyecto trata simplemente de no perder de vista el mandato misionero de Nuestro Señor, que si bien no exige que todos dejen su tierra para evangelizar en tierras extrañas, es una exigencia del corazón católico, que tiene los mismos sentimientos que Cristo Jesús, "que todos los hombres se salven y lleguen al conocimiento de la Verdad", (1Tim 2,4).
El objetivo general del proyecto, es pues, brindar una educación católica con dimensión misionera. Este es el horizonte al que debe mirar permanentemente el Colegio Redemptoris Missio para no perder su razón de ser.

It is a novel idea that tries to use the tool “School” in order to train secular missionaries and promote consecrated vocations.
It is novel as regards methodology and because it is the distinctive project of the school, in such a way that, if it were not feasible, the school would not have a raison d'être. This is not the case in other non-confessional schools whose aim is to help parents in the education of their children without taking into account
man’s religious dimension. It does not exactly coincide with catholic schools either, since they do not include the missionary projection in their ideology. It does partially coincide in that any education based on faith means educating in favour of the mission Christ entrusted to the Church.
The distinctive feature of Redemptoris Missio School is its openness regarding pedagogical content and the life inside the school, in a missionary perspective of “right-duty” of any baptized person with universal dimension.
General Aim
The Project tries not to lose sight of the missionary mandate of Our Lord, who does not demand that everyone leave their homeland in order to evangelize other lands, even though it is a demand of our catholic heart, which possesses the same feelings as Jesus Christ: “who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Tim 2: 4).
The general aim of the project is, then, to provide a catholic education with a missionary dimension. This is the horizon Redemptoris Missio School has to look at permanently.
English to Spanish: A Very Short Story
Source text - English "A VERY SHORT STORY"

One hot evening in Padua they carried him up onto the roof and he could look out over the top of the town. There were chimney swifts in the sky. After a while it got dark and the searchlights came out. The others went down and took the bottles with them. He and Luz could hear them below on the balcony. Luz sat on the bed. She was cool and fresh in the hot night.
Luz stayed on night duty for three months. They were glad to let her. When they operated on him she prepared him for the operating table; and they had a joke about friend or enema. He went under the anaesthetic holding tight on to himself so he would not blab about anything during the silly, talky time. After he got on crutches he used to take the temperatures so Luz would not have to get up from the bed. There were only a few patients, and they all knew about it. They all liked Luz. As he walked back along the halls he thought of Luz in his bed.
Before he went back to the front they went into the Duomo and prayed. It was dim and quiet, and there were other people praying. They wanted to get married, but there was not enough time for the banns, and neither of them had birth certificates. They felt as though they were married, but they wanted everyone to know about it, and to make it so they could not lose it.
Luz wrote him many letters that he never got until after the armistice. Fifteen came in a bunch to the front and he sorted them by the dates and read them all straight through. They were all about the hospital, and how much she loved him and how it was impossible to get along without him and how terrible it was missing him at night.
After the armistice they agreed he should go home to get a job so they might be married. Luz would not come home until he had a good job and could come to New York to meet her. It was understood he would not drink, and he did not want to see his friends or anyone in the States. Only to get a job and be married. On the train from Padua to Milan they quarreled about her not being willing to come home at once. When they had to say good-bye, in the station at Milan, they kissed good-bye, but were not finished with the quarrel. He felt sick about saying good-bye like that.

Una tarde calurosa en Padua lo llevaron al techo y pudo observar la ciudad desde las alturas. Había vencejos en el cielo. Después de un rato oscureció y los reflectores se encendieron. Los otros bajaron y se llevaron las botellas. Él y Luz podían oírlos debajo, en el balcón. Luz se sentó en la cama. Estaba tranquila y fresca en la noche calurosa.
Luz estuvo de guardia nocturna durante tres meses. Se lo permitían con gusto. Cuando lo operaron ella lo preparó para el quirófano; e hicieron una broma sobre el enema. Pasó por la anestesia conteniéndose para no hablar demasiado durante la etapa en que se dicen tonterías. Cuando pudo andar en muletas solía tomar las temperaturas para que Luz no tuviese que levantarse de la cama. Había sólo unos pocos pacientes y todos sabían. A todos les agradaba Luz. Mientras volvía caminando por los pasillos se imaginaba a Luz en su cama.
Antes de volver al frente, fueron al Duomo y rezaron. Estaba tranquilo y poco iluminado, y había otra gente rezando. Querían casarse, pero no había suficiente tiempo para las amonestaciones y ninguno tenía certificado de nacimiento. Se sentían como si estuviesen casados, pero querían que todos lo supiesen y querían hacerlo para no perderlo.
Luz le escribió muchas cartas que no recibió hasta el armisticio. Al frente llegaron quince en un manojo, las agrupó por fecha y las leyó todas de una sola vez. Todas hablaban del hospital, de cuánto lo amaba y de lo difícil que era vivir sin él y de lo terrible que era extrañarlo por las noches.
Después del armisticio se pusieron de acuerdo en que él debía ir a casa para conseguir trabajo para así poder casarse. Luz no volvería a casa hasta que él no consiguiera un buen empleo y pudiera ir a Nueva York a encontrarse con ella. Se sobreentendió que él no iba a beber y que no vería a sus amigos ni a nadie en Estados Unidos. Sólo a conseguir trabajo y casarse. En el tren de Padua a Milán discutieron porque ella no quería volver a casa de inmediato. Cuando tuvieron que despedirse, en la estación de Milán, se dieron un beso pero la pelea quedó inconclusa. Se sintió angustiado por tener que despedirse de esa manera.
