| Translation - English THE DEMOGRAPHIC VOLUME OF THE MEDIEVAL GALICIAN CITY
Measuring the surface area occupied by an urban centre gives us an initial idea of its size, which is undoubtedly proportionally linked to its demographic volume; however it is not so simple to accurately estimate the number of people who reside there. In a period such as the medieval period, which is not exactly pre-statistical but rather proto-statistical, we are only able to offer an approximate figure, which may be better than it seems, as with an acceptable error margin we can determine the volume of each community and establish a hierarchy between them from a quantitative point of view, all of which allows a satisfactory result to be achieved.
One must, of course, make a timely observation: due to an understandable distortion we tend to apply to all of the Middle Ages that which is only applicable to a chronological segment which is notably briefer than the enormous period of one thousand years designated as medieval. This is because we tend to consider the whole period as a homogeneous entity, which is far from the reality.

| Translation - English This report is especially important as it echoes the remarkable work done by the various national delegations within the Article 29 Working Party in 2008. It recounts the particularly effective synergy which has allowed the adoption of critical viewpoints in the protection of individual liberty.
Faced with new complex issues related to the extraordinary development of information systems, our group has forged a doctrine of its very own, using a synthesis of concepts shared by different national authorities on data protection. It has overcome various differences of interpretation to focus on building a common foundation of values and principles which it believes deserve special protection.

Education and Background
I hold a Bachelor of Arts from Queen Mary, The University of London in Spanish, Portuguese and French, a Master of Arts with commendation in Film, Photography and Visual Studies from Queen's University Belfast and am an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists.
My undergraduate degree at the University of London involved the study of translation, interpreting, linguistics, literature, history and culture. I have studied Spanish and French at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina where I spent one year living, teaching and studying and have also spent time studying my other source languages in France, Francophone Canada, Brazil and Portugal. Additionally I have taught English, Spanish and Portuguese. I live in Portugal and work full-time translating into my native language.
My personal interests include photography, cinema, visual art, music and cookery and I am particularly happy to accept work in any of these subject areas. My postgraduate degree programme in Visual Studies enabled me to develop, improve and perfect my writing skills whilst providing me with the opportunity to produce my own visual art. During the programme I was awarded a scholarship by Queen's University Belfast to spend a month in Argentina producing a photographic project which was exhibited on my return in the Queen's Film Theatre (Belfast). I also produced an artists' book in Lisbon, Portugal which was exhibited in the Belfast Exposed Photography Gallery and the Library at Queen's University Belfast.
Professionally the majority of my experience has been in the translation of documents relating to the European Union and law but I also accept general assignments and work in the following fields:
Specialisation fields: European Union, Law, Marketing, Business and Commerce, Economics, History, Civil Construction, Tourism, Anthropology, Media, Politics, Literature
