History, English language, English literature and religion at A levels, plus completing courses in written & oral French (Academy of Rennes), with an emphasis on history and current politics and my publishing and editing experience gave me the competence needed for translating. I have translated and edited work for students studying English at degree level, as well as translating the website for Breton folklore groups, with the aim of attracting Celtic music groups in the UK. I have been active in setting up an English website for a French company, regularly work for tourist offices (most recently, a published tourist magazine), the Conseil Général du Finistère, Comité Régional du Tourisme in Lorraine, translation agencies and work frequently with other translators.
I regularly help out, on an informal basis, with translating or interpreting needed in the town where I live and teach English on a part-time basis to both adults & children.
