Seit einiger Zeit kursiert eine neue Idee durch amerikanische Chefetagen und Companys: Arbeitsbesprechungen, Teamsitzungen und Präsentationen seien ab jetzt nur noch in Form von “topless Meetings” erlaubt. Irritiert wird sich so mancher und mehr noch so manche fragen, ob dies im Zuge einer überraschenden Libertinage der amerikanischen Gesellschaft etwa bedeute, man konferiere ab jetzt nur noch oben ohne?…
Dieser Gedanke kann im Wissen um die Prüderie der amerikanischen Gesellschaft gleich wieder verworfen werden. Nein, nicht ohne Oberhemd, sondern ohne ‚Lap-Top’ sollen Meetings zukünftig abgehalten werden. Denn diese und artverwandte Gadgets wie iPhone, Sidekick und Blackberry verderben die ohnehin nicht sonderlich gute Kommunikationskultur, die gemeinhin in Sitzungen dieser Art herrscht. Da werden während der Besprechung eifrig E-Mails gecheckt, wird gechattet, gesimst, gegamed und geblogt. Die Augen auf dem Monitor und auch die Gedanken ganz bestimmt nicht dort, wo sie eigentlich sein sollten – nämlich im Meeting. Daher denkt man in so manchem, vor allem online-nahen Unternehmen daran, Mitarbeitern in Meetings den Gebrauch drahtloser Informationstechnologien gänzlich zu untersagen.
Mit dieser Maßnahme hoffen die Fürstreiter des Topless-Konzepts nicht allein, den Symptomen von geteilter Aufmerksamkeit, mangelnder Konzentration und dadurch bedingter sinkender Produktivität von Meetings erfolgreich entgegenzuwirken. Auch der soziale Faktor, der durch den Einzug der mobilen Online-Services merklich gelitten hat, hofft man durch die verordnete Abstinenz zu stärken. Schließlich handelt es sich auch um eine Frage mangelnder Wertschätzung, wenn einer sich vorbereitet und zu anderen spricht, während die nach Kinoprogramm und den neuesten Börsenkursen googlen.
So in etwa lautet der Tenor einer Diskussion, die im letzten Jahr vor allem durch einen Blogbeitrag mit dem vielsagenden Titel „My personal war against Crackberry“ angestoßen wurde. Der Autor Todd Wilkens, Chef einer Design-Agentur in San Francisco, ist der Ansicht, dass eine effektive Arbeitssitzung kaum noch möglich sei, wenn die Teilnehmenden eben nur teilweise präsent seien. „Unvollständige Aufmerksamkeit führt zu unvollständigen Resultaten“, meint Wilkens und fasst die Inhalte der Topless-Philosophie sogar in einem kleinen Meeting-Knigge zusammen. This mode allows pictures to be taken at shutter speeds approx. 4 stops slower than is possible with a non-VR lens, therefore expanding the range of shutter speed options and making handheld or monopod telephoto shooting much easier. Panning is also possible.
TRIPOD: Recommended mode to reduce camera shake when using a tripod. With a super-telephoto lens, camera shake may occur even when the camera is mounted on a tripod. TRIPOD mode reduces camera shake when shooting with a tripod, especially with shutter speeds between 1/15 and 1 sec. It also reduces image shake in the viewfinder.

Use the Create New Revision dialog to create a new revision of an existing document revision. This dialog is opened by searching for and finding a document revision, right-clicking on the found file, and selecting New Revision.
When the Create New Revision dialog opens, a suggested value appears in the Revision field. This value is the next logical document revision value (e.g., A2 is suggested when creating a new document revision for A1). You can change this suggested Revision field value, but by accepting the suggested value you will be assured that your document revision will get a unique value.

From Revision: This field shows the current document revision ID from which a new revision will be created. The ID is built up from several parts, such as Document Class - Document Number - Document Revision - Document Title. This field is read-only.
Revision: The new document revision level.
Revision Text: Enter text describing the new document revision.
Copy Record Data: If this check box is selected, record data from the current document revision is copied to the new document revision.
Document Management Desktop Find
This dialog is similar to the Find dialog in Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 and Microsoft Windows 95. Besides allowing you to find and edit documents, it provides a few document management features.
To use the free-text search function, simply fill in the "Containing text" field on the Issue tab. If this field is omitted, free text is excluded from your search. The text in the "Containing text" field can be combined with regular search expressions in the other fields. If the "Use natural language phrase" check box is selected, the text in the field will be parsed as a question, such as "How do I print in Microsoft Excel?." If it is cleared, the field will be parsed according to the syntax of Microsoft Index Server.

Economy Grows Nearly 1% in Europe
With France and Germany leading the way, the economy in the 12 nations that use the Euro currency grew at its fastest quarterly rate since 2000, a development that is expected to fortify the resolve of the European Central Bank to raise interest rates again this year.
The gross domestic product of the nations grew 0.9 percent from April to June compared with the previous quarter, Eurostat, the statistics agency of the European Union, reported Monday. Growth has recently mostly reflected strong exports, but the latest figure received a lift from business investment and consumers whose reluctance to spend has been the hallmark of the slow recovery.
The German economy, where households have been the most tightfisted, also grew 0.9 percent.
“Domestic demand is doing its job, finally,” said Erik Nielsen, chief Europe economist with Goldman Sachs. “We finally have a little drive from something other than exports, which is good.”
The data broadly confirmed figures released by various countries over much of the last week, most recently France on Friday. Though overall growth is accelerating in the Euro region, it is uneven, with France growing at a rate of 1.1 percent to 1.2 percent in the quarter, and Italy lagging at 0.5 percent.
The precise details of the growth pattern are not yet available, but economists said that data on retail sales in Germany points toward strong consumption, as does a fall in unemployment. Business confidence surveys, though they have come off their peaks of earlier this year, are still in line with strong growth.
“The situation on the labor market has noticeably improved,” said Michael Glos, the German economics minister. “Therefore, the prospects for the year are exceptionally positive.”
The European Commission on Monday raised its estimate for growth in the third quarter to 0.5 percent to 0.9 percent, slightly higher than it projected in July.
But the commission cut its forecast to a range of 0.4 percent to 0.9 percent for the fourth quarter, a period when many economists said they expected the softening economy in the United States to drag on European growth.

Selecting Multiple Members Based on Criteria
You can select members dynamically based on user-defined criteria. You define criteria by creating expressions of members, Boolean operations, and commands.
Boolean operators enable you to specify precise member combinations for the report, which is useful for dealing with large volumes of data. Use the AND, OR, UNION, and NOT Boolean operators, combined with expression commands, to refine your member selections.
To select multiple members based on criteria:
1. Open a report.
2. Double-click a dimension cell for which you want to assign members.
3. In the Select Members dialog box, right-click inside the Selected area, then click Advanced.
Note: At least two members must be displayed in the Selected area before you can create criteria.
4. Build expressions by using one or more of the following operators and symbols:
Select NOT to add the Boolean operator NOT to the expression. NOT is the inverse of the selected condition.
Type a left parenthesis, (, to add an opening character to the expression.
Type a right parenthesis, ), to add a closing character to the expression.
Click in the OPERATOR column, then select AND, OR, or UNION.
Note: You must use two pairs of parentheses if you are using three members. For example, if you selected descendants of Market and you want to exclude East, West, and South, your advanced member selection query should be as follows:
Descendants of Market AND
NOT ( East AND
NOT ( West AND
NOT SOUTH ))
5. Click OK to return to your report.
