Holland sought to use this model to unify under one theoretical framework adaptation in such diverse fields as neuroscience, economics, control, game theory, artificial intelligence, and genetics.
For any adaptive process that generates structures of some type, one can define a set A of all the structures that may be generated during the adaptive process. For example, in the domain of economic planning an element of A may be a mix of goods; in game-theory A may be the set of all strategies with respect to some game (Holland, 1975, p4). I have been translating for three years, the first two translating papers and small book sections for professors and classmates during my Master's degree.
For the last year I have been translating for individuals, mainly in the fields of computer science, popular science, history and general texts.
I am able to translate accurately texts from several areas of science (physics, astronomy, genetics) besides my main fields of expertise, Computer Science and IT.
Quality assurance and professional commitments
Professionalism: Each translation request is carefully reviewed prior to acceptance to guarantee the project is within my competence. If the required background expertise doesn't fit mine, or a too tight deadline is demanded, thus rendering impossible to provide a quality service, I will turn down the request promptly.
Punctuality: Once the source document is reviewed and the details are concerted, the accorded deadline is treated very seriously. If because of an extreme situation a delay is foreseeable, I will notify the client in advance.
Proofreading: Every translation is carefully proofreaded before its delivery. Every project is printed for at least one proofreading on paper.
Review upon request: If the final document has any mistakes, I will correct every error in translation for free. This will not apply on style related issues, on cases when the required style was not explicitly requested from the start.
Undivided translation proficiency: I only translate into my native language, Spanish. Equipment
