§ 6 Altschutzrechte
6.1 Jede Vertragspartei bleibt Inhaber der von ihr vor Beginn dieses Vertrages gemachten Erfindungen und der darauf angemeldeten oder erteilten Schutzrechte (im Folgenden: Altschutzrechte).
6.2 Soweit Altschutzrechte für die Durchführung der Entwicklungsarbeiten erforderlich sind und keine entgegenstehenden Rechte Dritter bestehen, räumt der jeweilige Vertragspartner dem jeweils anderen Vertragspartner hieran ein auf die Dauer und die Zwecke der Entwicklungsarbeiten begrenztes, unentgeltliches und nicht ausschließliches Nutzungsrecht ein.
6.3 Der Auftragnehmer räumt dem Auftraggeber bereits mit dieser Vereinbarung ein einfaches, unentgeltliches, unwiderrufliches, zeitlich unbegrenztes, übertragbares, und unterlizenzierbares Nutzungsrecht an seinen Altschutzrechten ein, soweit dies für die uneingeschränkte Nutzung oder Verwertung der Entwicklungsergebnisse erforderlich ist.

6 Previous Property Rights
6.1 Each party shall remain the owner of all inventions made prior to the start of this Contract and the property rights applied for or granted on them (hereinafter: Previous Property Rights.)
6.2 Insofar as Previous Property Rights are necessary for performing the Development Work and there are not any conflicting rights of third parties, the respective contractual partner shall grant the other respective contractual partner a limited, gratuitous and non-exclusive right of use to them for the duration and purpose of the Development Work.
6.3 The Contractor shall grant the Customer a non-exclusive, gratuitous, irrevocable, transferable and sublicensable right of use to its Previous Property Rights that is unlimited in time, insofar as such is necessary for the unlimited use or exploitation of development results.
