I am a freelance translator for English <> German specialising in technical and engineering translations.
I am a native German speaker, and English has been my language of habitual use for many years. I have lived and studied in the US and I now live permanently in the UK. I am truly at home in both languages and cultures, which enables me to produce accurate and natural sounding translations in either language.
I specialise in technical translations, with a focus on robotics, automation, automotive, manufacturing and engineering industries. Having worked for ABB Robotics - a leading supplier of industrial robots and modular manufacturing systems - for nearly 20 years provides me with a solid technical background for specialised translations from the automation sector and all fields of industrial engineering. Especially on technical translations I work with the support of my partner, who was born and educated in England and works as a specialist in the field of robotics.
I am also available for specialised texts from other fields of technology and science, telecommunications, medicine/healthcare, IT & computers, beauty, fashion, marketing and business, as well as general translations.
I have experience in IT and computer programming and have done localisations for both websites and software.
Language and translating is my passion. I have excellent writing skills and I am dedicated to delivering translations of the highest quality. With attention to detail and a true interest in the subject matter, each translation gets the focus it deserves. I provide reliable turnaround times and deadlines will always be met.

My rates are competitive and depend on degree of specialisation, text type, file format and other aspects. Please ask for a quote or estimate.
Rates are charged in GBP or EUR per word of the source text, to ensure cost transparency. On request, rates can be calculated per German standard line (55 keystrokes incl. spaces).
