Native Swedish proofreader and technical/cultural translator!

I have been working freelance since 2001 with direct clients and translation agencies, mostly in Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands, but also in Finland, Poland, the US and the UK.

The majority of my work is made out of technical texts, like water heating, railway construction, automotive industry technology, etc. Also, I have translated a lot of EU texts, trade agreements, directives and questions written by the MEPs to the Council or the Commission (via ETC Brussels, Interverbum/AAC Global and more recently via CBG as well as Euroscript) from Danish, Dutch and English into Swedish.

Direct translation and editing clients include publishing houses Clue (NO), Hodder & Stoughton Ltd (UK), Linghardt og Ringhof and Politikens forlag (DK) and the Swedish National Heritage Board (Riksantikvarieämbetet), but also some proofreading for publishing houses (the 2005 translation of Ursula K. Le Guin's The Telling into Swedish, for example!).

As stated above, I'm a specialist in transport (automotive, seafaring, railways) and EU texts, but also archaeology and history. Most text I get to translate are manuals or the like, but I also handle articles and advertising texts. I got my seafaring knowledge from trips on the sea when I was a kid, but later also from working at the Maritime Museum of the city build for seafarers, Göteborg. I still work as a guide in the Port of Göteborg, which is the largest sea port in the Nordic countries. History and archaeology has always interested me, as well as travelling the world. My grandfather worked at the Swedish Railways (he actually built some of them), so that's where I got that interest to begin with. In recent years, I've finally revived my interest in motorcycles, and I'm a proud owner of a custom-built 535 cc.

I translate from Danish, Dutch, English, French and Norwegian into Swedish, but I also know Latin well enough to translate to and from it. Please don't send me medical texts, though, since that's not my cup of tea – send those to experts of those subjects instead. I'm a proud member of the Swedish Association for Professional Translators (SFÖ) and also a member of literary community Översättarcentrum. Since 2010, I'm also part of Translation Corner, a co-operative of four translators that can help you solve your linguistic problems even better than just one person can.

My prices are on a northwest European standard level, considering the fact that I live in Sweden and pay everything here. Please ask, if you have a specific job that you need my expertise for.
