Église St-Laurent
Elle date des 15e et 16e s. Un vestibule avec dôme (18e s.) précède la nef (15e s.) dont la voûte primitive de pierre a été refaite en bois en 1859 en forme de carène renversée. La 1re chapelle à gauche possède un intéressant plafond Renaissance à caissons et un saint Michel en bois doré du 15e s. Dans la 1re chapelle à droite, Pietà polychrome du 16e s.
Tour de la Motte-Forte
Derrière le chevet de l’église, cette grosse tour du 15e s., couronnée de mâchicoulis, est le seul vestige d’un important château féodal détruit pendant les guerres de Religion (Musée archéologique).

Deze kerk dateert uit de 15de en 16de eeuw. Na het voorportaal met koepeldak (18de eeuw) volgt het 15de-eeuwse schip, waarvan het oorspronkelijke stenen gewelf in 1859 is verbouwd tot een houten gewelf in de vorm van een omgekeerde scheepsromp. Bekijk in de eerste kapel links het bijzondere cassetteplafond in renaissancestijl en een H. Michaël van verguld hout (15de eeuw). In de eerste kapel rechts staat een polychrome piëta uit de 16de eeuw.
Tour de la Motte-Forte
Achter de koorsluiting van de kerk verrijst een logge 15de-eeuwse toren, die wordt bekroond met machicoulis. Hij vormt het enige overblijfsel van een groot feodaal kasteel, dat werd verwoest tijdens de godsdienstoorlogen (archeologisch museum).

Située à Nandrin, sur la Route du Condroz, La Table Etc. est spécialisée dans l’art de la table et les articles cadeau de style contemporain. Le magasin doit surtout son succès au choix des collections, à l’accessibilité ainsi qu’à l’ambiance détendue qui invite les clients à faire une balade-découverte. Nous avons rencontré Maïté Vandormael, la gérante qui nous a expliqué avec enthousiasme l’approche du marché et le succès du magasin.
En réponse à la demande
L’histoire de La Table Etc. commence déjà avec l’ouverture de Vivre Contemporain, le grand magasin de mobilier design qui a fêté son cinquième anniversaire en automne 2005. Au début, les gérants de ce magasin n’avaient pas l’intention de se lancer dans la décoration ou l’art de la table. Pourtant, pour répondre à la demande des clients, ils ont décidé de consacrer un petit espace aux objets de décoration, aux articles cadeau et aux accessoires. Le succès était tel que l’espace initial de 20 m² a été agrandi à cinq reprises. Comme le chiffre d’affaires continuait à monter, l’ouverture d’un nouveau magasin s’imposait. Ainsi, La Table Etc. a ouvert ses portes en septembre 2004, juste à côté de Vivre Contemporain. La philosophie des deux magasins est plus ou moins la même: présenter des articles de style contemporain qui soient accessibles à un large public.

Aan de Route du Condroz in Nandrin ligt La Table Etc., een winkel gespecialiseerd in tafeldecoratie en eigentijdse geschenkartikelen. De winkel dankt zijn succes vooral aan de keuze van zijn collectie, de bereikbaarheid én de ontspannen sfeer, die mensen er al gauw toe verleidt om even te komen rondsnuffelen. Wij hadden een gesprek met bedrijfsleidster Maïté Vandormael. Vol enthousiasme gaf ze ons meer uitleg over de marktbenadering en de succesformule van haar zaak.
Inspelen op de vraag
Het verhaal van La Table Etc. begint met de opening van Vivre Contemporain, een grote meubelzaak met designmeubelen die in het najaar van 2005 haar vijfde verjaardag vierde. Aanvankelijk waren de eigenaars helemaal niet van plan om zich ook met accessoires en tafeldecoratie bezig te houden, maar om in te spelen op de vraag van klanten besloten ze een hoekje van hun winkel in te richten met decoratie- en geschenkartikelen en woonaccessoires. Het succes bleek enorm en de ruimte van 20 m² moest tot vijfmaal toe worden uitgebreid. De omzet bleef stijgen en de opening van een nieuwe winkel lag voor de hand. In september 2004 opende La Table Etc. zijn deuren, vlak naast Vivre Contemporain. Beide winkels hanteren min of meer dezelfde filosofie: eigentijdse en betaalbare artikelen verkopen aan een breed publiek.

I am so glad you like the Narnian books, and it was nice of you to tell me. There are to be seven stories altogether. The ones which have already come out are:
1. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
2. Prince Caspian
3. The Voyage of the Dawn T reader
4. The Silver Chair
Some time this year, [letter is dated 1954] Number 5, The Horse and His Boy, will be out; and the 6th, The Magician’s Nephew has already gone to the printer. (You have no idea how long it takes getting a book printed.)
The 7th is already written, but still only in pen-and-ink, and I have not quite decided yet what to call it. Sometimes I think of calling it The King of Narnia, and some times, Night Falls on Narnia. Which do you think sounds best?
I was at a Zoo last week and saw the real lions.

Ik ben zo blij dat je de boeken over Narnia mooi vindt, en wat lief dat je me dat hebt laten weten. In totaal komen er zeven verhalen. Dit zijn de verhalen die al bestaan:
1. Het betoverde land achter de kleerkast

3. De reis van het drakenschip
4. De zilveren stoel
Ergens dit jaar [de brief dateert van 1954] zal nummer vijf uitkomen, Het paard en de jongen, en het zesde verhaal, Het neefje van de tovenaar, ligt al bij de drukker. (Je kunt je niet voorstellen hoe lang het duurt om een boek te drukken.)
Het zevende heb ik ook al geschreven, maar voorlopig alleen nog maar met pen, en ik ben er nog niet helemaal over uit hoe het gaat heten. Soms wil ik het De Koning van Narnia noemen, en soms De nacht valt over Narnia. Wat vind jij het beste klinken?
Vorige week heb ik in een dierentuin echte leeuwen gezien.
