About me
Born and raised in the northeast United States, I have studied French and Spanish in France, Quebec, and Spain, and I am an ATA-certified French-to-English translator. I graduated summa cum laude from Hamilton College with a major in French, earned an M.A. in Romance languages at the University of Pennsylvania, and did coursework in French-to-English legal and financial translation at New York University. In addition to being a qualified translator, I have taught both French and Spanish at the middle and high school levels, and have taught college French courses as well.

As noted above, I have studied legal translation, and that is one of my areas of specialization. I have translated for nonprofit organizations on a number of occasions and have developed a special interest in issues of development and sustainability. As an accomplished amateur musician, I also have a particular interest in translating documents related to the arts, and my translations of articles on the history of French garden art appeared in a book published by the University of Pennsylvania Press.

I take pride in my English-language writing skills and strive to produce translations that are both accurate and graceful. I welcome all inquiries and look forward to working with you.
