A professional translator with experience of working both in an in-house environment and on a freelance basis, I am a motivated individual with an enthusiasm for language and the art of translation and a real commitment to quality. My work is underpinned by a solid education, including the prestigious Diploma in Translation from the Chartered Institute of Linguists, and each of my translations is informed by thorough research in order to ensure an accurate grasp of the subject matter, a task which I find every bit as enjoyable as the process of crafting the English translation. In addition to translating highly technical documents such as operating manuals and performance specifications, I am equally at home with more creative material such as press releases, in-house magazines and website text. I regularly work with the industry’s standard translation tools, enabling me to ensure consistency in my work, while also firmly believing that translation memory technology must always be used intelligently and with discretion in order to produce a high-quality document, taking into consideration the linguistic context as well as the style, register and target audience of the document.
