1. GENERALIDADES
1. El presente procedimiento aplica solo para especies que se importen con fines
experimentales.
2. Para las especies experimentales que se importan por primera vez (que no cuentan con
requisitos de importación), se les permitirá su importación un máximo de dos veces antes
de realizar el ARP correspondiente, de acuerdo a lo establecido en la Norma Oficial
Mexicana NOM-OO6-FITO-1995. Para estos casos la empresa deberá contar con
invernaderos, laboratorios ó cámaras de crecimiento que permitan llevar a cabo las
evaluaciones del material de manera aislada. La empresa deberá proporcionar la
información técnica para elaborar el ARP.
3. Las empresas participantes en este procedimiento serán únicamente aquellas que
acrediten, ante esta Secretaría, sus actividades de investigación y mejoramiento
genético. Lo cual puede realizarse mediante acta constitutiva de la empresa o algún otro
documento en donde se especifique que dentro de las actividades que se desarrollan
esta la investigación agrícola.
4. La semilla deberá estar debidamente identificada con el tipo de material y número de lote
(claves, números, etc.).

2. The experimental species that are imported for the first time (that do not have importation requirements), are allowed to be imported for a maximum of two times before executing the corresponding ARP, in accordance with the Official Mexican Standard NOM-006-FITO-1995. For these cases, the company must rely on greenhouses, laboratories or Growth Chambers that allow the carrying out of the assessments of the material in an isolated manner. The company must provide the technical information in order to elaborate the ARP.
3. The companies participating in this procedure are only those that will accredit, by the Secretariat, their activities of research and breeding. This can be done through deed of the company or any other document that specifies that within the activities of the company is that of Agricultural Research.
4. The seeds must be properly identified with the type of material and the lot number (keys, number, etc.)
5. The companies interested must send to their DGSV by writing, the importation attempt program of experimental material, according to the form “Application for the importation of vegetable products and by-products for experimental purposes" (Annex).
6. Where applicable, the company must execute crop rotations in the sowing areas with experimental seeds or any other type of management methods that are: sterilization of the soil, fallow or continuous monitoring of the cycle.

Emergency Response
Every year, millions of people around the world are faced with the trauma of natural and man- made disasters. The big stories fill our TV screens and newspapers and we cringe at the sad statistics. However, smaller events in faraway places often go unreported in our media.
Hurricanes, typhoons, tornados, earthquakes, volcanoes, drought, flooding, and wildfires, take people by surprise, causing death, injury and disease. Survivors are suddenly left homeless with all of their possessions, animals and crops destroyed. Often, the countries or regions hardest hit, are those least able to cope or respond. With no emergency management program in place, with no immediate distribution of food, water, shelter, or medical attention, survivors quickly become fatalities.
Wars and ethnic conflicts cause people to flee their homes in search of safety for themselves and their families. The United Nations estimates that there are currently over 9 million people living in refugee status.
That’s the bad news. The good news is that there are many organizations trained in emergency management that are prepared for an immediate response to disasters, both national and international.

Les guerres et les conflits ethniques obligent les gens à fuir leurs maisons en recherche de sécurité pour leurs familles et eux-mêmes. Les Nations Unies estiment qu’il y’a actuellement plus de 9 millions de personnes vivants en tant que réfugiés.
C'est la mauvaise nouvelle. La bonne nouvelle est qu’il y’a beaucoup d’organisations qui sont formées dans la gestion d’intervention et qui sont préparées pour des interventions d’urgences immédiates en réponse aux désastres, nationaux comme internationaux.
