| Translation - Portuguese “Hermes Trismegistus wrote with a diamond quill onto an emerald blade”. We were all in the Duke, my black Corsa Sedan with no additionals, singing the vintage and enlightened Jorge Ben album. Jorge Ben is a popular Brazilian Samba-Rock artist. He’s known for his extravagant new-agey compositions as well as great love songs. It seems that in those days, in the 60’s, people were overwhelmed with esoterism and would publicise their entrancement. It seems that nowadays no one is discovering any new ancient thing as they did then, and when something is discovered they promptly use it as an excuse to form new churches, sects or rituals involving ‘medicine herbs’. Everything nowadays is a renaissance, a revival, a revisitation and nothing, it seems, is as it always was. Everyone thinks it was they who have found the holy grail and everyone else is amiss. Holy immaturity! Jorge Ben reminded me of Donovan singing on Atlantis in the 60’s. Jorge Ben was imagined as the Brazilian version of the Scottish Donovan in my strange mathematical mind. |

I was born in Brazil and put into an American school at the age of THREE. English, therefore has become my first and second language. My parents spoke Portuguese to me, so I speak it fluently, and in school I spoke only English. Consequently, I have two first languages. I lived in Miami, Florida for FIVE years during which time I learned Spanish from the Hispanic colony therein. I also lived in Argentina for some time, where I perfected my Spanish. For THREE years I undertook the study of dead languages and ended up mastering ANCIENT GREEK. I understand that there is not as much call for dead languages, but if ever the necessity should arise, I am your service. Also, the study of dead language affords the student a view of advanced linguistics and an advantage into any other language.
I currently reside in London, England and would be happy to assist you with any translation services around this area and if my physical presence isn't required, around the world! | Keywords: translation, interpreting, english, portuguese, spanish, ancient greek,
