About me
As a retired software engineer I'm very well qualified to translate, edit and proofread any computer related texts from both English and German into Dutch. Especially manuals and other texts meant for end users. The correct localization of user interfaces can be essential for the success of a particular application on any foreign market. Writing and designing software requires a constant awareness of the potential end user and his or her needs. Over the years this has become a second nature for me.
An excellent command of the source language is a prerequisite for high quality translations, but is not enough when it comes to software related issues. To actually have designed software, including writing the code, provides a level of experience that has proven to be rare in the world of translating.
