Translation is a mixture of creativity and practice, it requires experience, intuition and a good sense of language. I started translating both from Swedish and English in 2001, motivated by my experiences of living abroad and encountering new cultures. While continuing with the practice of translating (and discovering new languages, ways of thinking and people) I studied a BA in Linguistics and Phonetics at Stockholms Universitet and, more recently, a Post-graduate program in Translation and Translation studies at El Colegio de México. The academic approach has helped me in attaining a more complete perspective and has made me aware of the fact that translation is not only about languages, it also involves an ideology and a practical purpose, reason for which each text must be treated as a unique entity with particular features.

- Translation of three theater plays: El rumor, Catalina and Asalto al agua transparente, by Gabino Rodríguez and Luisa Pardo Urías. Spanish to English. Presented at the Theater and Dance Festival TransAmériques, at Montreal, Canada.
- “Un día en la vida de un astrólogo”. Translation of R.K. Narayan’s “An Astrologer’s Day” published in the literary journal Forum. English to Spanish.
