Jump: A piece (either Knight or Man) may leap in any direction over an opposing piece that occupies an adjacent square onto an empty square immediately beyond it. Enemy pieces jumped over are removed from the board. A player must jump if one of his pieces is next to an exposed enemy piece. Having jumped over one enemy piece, the jumping must continue if the player’s piece reaches a square next to another exposed enemy piece. A player may choose which opposing piece to capture, and with which of his pieces to make the capture. When compelled to jump, a player may, if he can, capture by a Knight’s Charge instead. A player may ignore his obligation to jump only if, on his previous move, he has jumped one of his pieces over an opponent's piece into his own Castle. In that case, he must immediately move that piece out from his Castle. | Translation - Basque 3. Jauzia: Pieza batek (Zaldun bat edo Gizon bat) edozein norabidetan, ondoko lauki batean dagoen etsai baten gainetik jauzi egin dezake, honen atzean dagoen lauki hutsera. Gainetik pasatako piezak kendu egiten dira. Jokalaria jauzia egitera derrigortua dago bere pieza etsaiaren pieza baten ondoan badago. Jokalariak zein etsai harrapatzen dituen eta honetarako bere piezetako zein erabiliko dituen hautatu dezake. Jauzia egitera derrigortua dagoenean, Zaldunaren Erasoa erabili dezake, ahal badu. Jokalariak jauzia egiteko beharra alde batera utzi dezake, aurreko mugimenduan etsai baten gainetik jauzi egin eta bere Gazteluan geratu bazen. Kasu horretan, pieza hori Gaztelutik berehala atera behar du. | English to Spanish: Excerpt from IoL's Code of Prof. Conduct General field: Law/Patents Detailed field: Law: Contract(s) | Source text - English 3.13 Practitioners shall respect confidentiality at all times and shall not seek to take advantage of information acquired during or as a result of their work. Marina General field: Social Sciences Detailed field: Social Science, Sociology, Ethics, etc. | Translation - English Truth is a process of criticism and corroboration of the ideas we have. Words are not representations of things, they’re statements referring to things, which we keep refining and shaping by difficult, complex and costly processes. To face the criticism of post-modern thinking, Alan Sokal, a New York University Physicist, tired of cultural relativism treating sciences as “stories” or social constructions, sent an article to a sociology magazine, riddled with physics nonsense but livened up with quotes from gurus of post-modernism. The article was admitted. Furthermore, it was published in a special issue. Some days later, Sokal revealed that his article had been a parody, which triggered a great debate in the media. |
