Es ist nur zu befürworten, wenn xxx bemüht ist, die Effizienz seiner Strukturen und Arbeitsmethoden zu verbessern. In einer Zeit und Welt der ständigen rapiden Veränderungen kann eine Organisation, die nicht ins Abseits abgleiten will, darauf keinesfalls verzichten.
Wirkliche Verbesserungen und Fortschritte erfordern allerdings, bevor sie stattfinden können, gründliche Vorbereitung: Analysen, Denkprozesse, Entwicklung überzeugender Konzepte, konsequente Umsetzung derselben. Dabei ist die Individualität jeder spezifischen Situation zu berücksichtigen.
Pauschalierung ist unbedingt zu vermeiden, sie kann sich vernichtend auswirken. Was in einem Land funktioniert, kann in einem anderen genau das Gegenteil bewirken.

I wholly support xxx’s endeavor to improve the efficiency of its structures and work methods. An organization that does not want to drift into obscurity really cannot forego this move in today’s age and world of constant, rapid changes.
However, thorough planning is imperative before genuine improvements and advancements can take place: analyses, thought processes, development of persuasive proposals, and the consistent implementation of the same – while giving consideration to the uniqueness of each specific situation.
Blanket decisions must be avoided, as they can yield destructive results. What works in one country can have the opposite effect in another.

Straßenkindern
Sie stammen aus zerrütteten Familien, in denen Gewalt und Missbrauch zum Alltag gehören. Als unerwünscht abgestempelt, durchlaufen viele Kinder einen wahren Albtraum, der Spuren hinterlässt. Die Flucht aus der Familie erscheint oft als einzige Alternative -- mit fatalen Folgen.
Völlig auf sich alleine gestellt, leben sie Sommer, wie Winter in alten Bauruinen, in der Kanalisation, unter Brücken oder Ähnlichen unwirtlichen Plätzen.
Broterwerb durch Betteln, Raub und Prostitution sind die einzigsten Möglichkeiten im täglichen Überlebenskampf. Gesellschaftlich verpönt und sozial geächtet, bleibt ihnen selbst die Flucht vor Polizei oder sonstigen Sicherheitsinstanzen nicht erspart.
Wen wundert es, wenn diese Kinder Angst, Hunger und chronische Vernachlässigung durch exzessiven Drogenmissbrauch zu lindern suchen.
Etwa drei Viertel aller Straßenkinder weisen Verhaltensstörungen, Depressionen, Hyperaktivismus oder andere psychosozialen Krankheiten auf. Ursachen sind fehlende Zuneigung, Ablehnung und permanenter Missbrauch.
Man geht davon aus, dass der Mehrzahl dieser Kinder und Jugendlichen geholfen werden kann, wenn ihnen rechtzeitig die notwendige Aufmerksamkeit und Behandlung durch eine interdisziplinäre Betreuung von Sozialarbeitern, Erziehern, Pschologen und medizinischem Fachpersonal zuteil wird. Ein solch integrals Konzept zur Resozialisierung von Straßenkindern ist sehr rar! | Translation - English
Street Children
They come from broken homes where violence and abuse are part of their daily life. Branded as unwanted, many children are living a real-life nightmare – one that leaves behind scars. Running away from home often seems to be the only option, though the consequences are deadly.
Completely dependent upon themselves, these children spend both summer and winter in the ruins of old buildings, in the sewer system, under bridges or in similarly inhospitable places.
Begging, stealing and prostitution are the only means for buying food in their daily struggle for survival. Rejected and ostracized by society, they even find themselves running from the police or other authorities.
It is no wonder that these children turn to drug abuse in an attempt to relieve their fear, hunger and chronic neglect.
Approximately three-quarters of all street children show signs of behavioral disorders, depression, hyperactivity or other psychosocial illnesses, resulting from a lack of affection, from rejection and ongoing abuse.
It is presumed that most of these children and youth could still be helped if the necessary attention and treatment were given to them early enough through the interdisciplinary care of social workers, teachers, psychologists and medical professionals. However, finding actual examples of such an integrated concept for the social rehabilitation of street children is very rare indeed! |
